BHA , I'd experienced that sort of thing more while a significant other was absent or in the bloom of love, but not with others.

Hola tony t!!

Donita... eegnog?
Are you saying you take inspiration from what could be called a broad spectrum sort of empathetic feel of who they are or particular aspects that relate to a particular portion of a form your working on.
Wow... great question. I think it’s a combination of each, Z. And it can vary from person to person and moment to moment. Sometimes I meld a person and an event that may have otherwise been unrelated. Maybe I see similarities in the two? But I have to say that the vast majority of the things I do, the form comes from the person (or event) and then other things may be added in later, rather than the other way around. Does this answer your question?

Have I ever met a real life muse? Are you speaking in general, or TheMuse on eplaya? In general I meet the muse everytime I see a person I like to photograph, um, in other ways it has varied. But I am always seeking...

I have not met eplaya TheMuse personally.

Incidentally, that whale shot... I would probably give something dear for a print of that. I have a deep connection with that scene... but more in a modern sense... back in the late 80s a whale washed up on Ocean Beach in SF. It was pretty atrocious what the people did to its body. But it inspired me to write one of the best songs I ever came up with.

You know... it generally has something to do with attraction of some sort. I experience that on vastly different levels, though. I define love a little differently than a lot of people I’m thinking. From the love I feel for a friend to the love of a woman, to the Love that encompasses everyone and everything. I generally fall in love with everyone I know/meet (assuming it’s an agreeable interaction), but it’s not at all a physical thing, but is more broad... maybe deep compassion is a better way of stating it. But there’ve also been times when I see a woman who just moves me in some major way... the mind, the body, every aspect just clicks for me and I stand there in awe.

I try to draw on all of these in the things I do.

It was in the back corner of an architectural selvage yard but they didn't have a sonic screwdriver so they couldn't get into it.

Oh. My. God. That would be a kick-ass art project...this police box that randomly appears throughout the city....

(But where the hell do you put a MV license on a Dalek?!)

I get those “muse” inspirations from photos sometimes too, tony. Thinking here of a photo of a friend that I saw way back whenever. When I saw it, it was just another random pic of a random person... before I’d actually gotten to know her. Something about the posture of the person in it, the expression on her face, the surrounding environment, all of it... I heard music, saw the flow of the moment that was captured there... or at least what I felt it to be. And though the person in the shot was attractive, that wasn’t at all the driving force of the emotion welled within me. It was much bigger than that.. I can’t quite put my finger on it yet.

there was a Dalek, out there last year it was a costume, as I recall, but maybe there was a tricycle in it I don't remember.

Yes. I know that feeling. I also totally love the interaction of making the picture. It's cool to take pictures of things, but it's better with people, and better yet with people you know and are comfortable with. Then you get those kind of pictures you are talking about more often. Not saying it doesn't happen with random people, it does, but usually it's not as intimate, or as emotive.

I tell ya... you never know when inspriation will stirke. I just try to keep myself open to it.

so... Msky... wood glue, eh? sounds like a project to me.

Alright people...

When bending pieces of metal (especially very large ones), often you must let one area cool before heating and bending another area so as not to cause a deformation in a place you don’t want it. I suspect the piece I’ve been waiting on is ready to once again be placed in the forge.

See ya’ll later...

Let's hear it for punk-rock makeovers.

I've been musing on the the question of muses and love and lovers. Very interesting. It is true that the bloom of love does have a way of putting the boot to your arse, so to speak.

Yay purple hair! I have to decide if I'm going to dye mine again this year or not - I tried in '03, and it was a nightmare (I didn't have enough bleach to pre-treat my hair thoroughly, so the color was badly streaked). If I do, I'm going shortshortshort first.
