does anyone else think about the definitions of words and the more they think about that word it doesn't make sense anymore
you mean like if you say a word over and over it begins to sound funny? Not sure I follow you.

So, I was thinking (sniffing around blue's box that she arrived in... cats do like boxes), if I remember correctly this will be your first year out there, right blue?

One thing to bring plenty of wasextra TP.(single ply only please), I’d take a roll with me to the potty and usually, especially later in the week, they’d be out. So I’d leave it in there as a gift to the next person(s). I’ve been trying to remember to tell you that for some time, but we’ve been getting off on all the silly “inspiration” stuff. (grin)

Also take some little bottles of hand sanitizers. The dispensers on the sides of the potty banks are almost ALWAYS out or empty. Can't tell you how glad I was to have one on a string around my neck. The Avalon Space Station took my "Hand sanitizer," though, and gave me ASS Sanitizer (same thing, with some sharpie editing). I still have to make a conscious effort to say "Hand Sanitizer" instead of Ass Sanitizer.

yes it will be my first year, if I can get out there that is. Things are still way way up in the air. Thanks for the tips though, they are always helpful. Even if I do hear them more than once.

Back to the word thing... I've just been trying to define the words in this years theme. I've looked in the dictionary and I'm trying to come up with what conscious, subconscious, unconscious mean to me. How do I define them as words. And the more I think about it the less sure I am about how I define them.

Sometimes...I do the "look at a word until it no longer looks like you've spelled it right" thing, too.

conscious, subconscious, unconscious
The latter two are misused more often than not. But so is about 5% of the English language. An example: what does "nauseous" mean?

I really find it interesting that everyone can have a different definiton to what a word means. Just because of things they associate with that word.

You weren't supposed to look it up. Most people use nauseous when they mean nauseated. You hear people often say "I feel really nauseous." I almost always reply "You look really nauseous."

How about a little Sambuca? In a cordial?

Subconscious is the things you do without realizing it, unconscious is what makes you the person you are.

I agree with RGs definition of subconcious, but I think unconcious is what I'll be when I finish all this booze.

See now I disagree with how you define it. I'm not saying it's wrong, I don't feel that's the right definition that makes sense to me.

That definition is what is usually listed first in the dictionary, actually.

But facts are not subjective. You thinking a word means something else does not change what it means.

"Ros: What are you playing at?"

"Guil: Words! They're all we have to go on!"
“We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.”

I'm not jumping down your throat here, I'm just prodding you, engaging in discussion. You know that, right? Some people sometimes misunderstand my intent when I do this.

Well, this if the definition I get

un·con·scious Audio pronunciation of "unconscious" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (n-knshs)
adj.

1. Lacking awareness and the capacity for sensory perception; not conscious.
2. Temporarily lacking consciousness.
3. Occurring in the absence of conscious awareness or thought: unconscious resentment; unconscious fears.
4. Without conscious control; involuntary or unintended: an unconscious mannerism.

n.

The division of the mind in psychoanalytic theory containing elements of psychic makeup, such as memories or repressed desires, that are not subject to conscious perception or control but that often affect conscious thoughts and behavior.

Dreams are influenced by your unconscious, but they are elements of your subconscious. You know this because your conscious brain can access them sometimes..they're just below the threshold of consciousness, but you know they happen and can sometimes remember them...some people can even dream lucidly.

I know, I generally don't have very strong convictions because I realize I change my perceptions of things often. I realize that I'm often ignorant on certain things and prefer to keep my options open.

Sides, I asked how you defined the words

I’ve found, at least for myself, that the best place to start is with the dictionary terminology. I wasn’t sure where you were heading, so I stuck to my standard MO. This rarely, however, gives me a feel for the meaning of the word, as it applies to what I’m trying to picture in my head.

I’ve had some difficulty in grasping how the terms apply to this year’s coming expierience. I’ve not quite got it yet in my own mind, and I’m not sure why that is.

And Genius, please don’t take my deliberate over use of apostrophes as a dig, I was poking fun of myself actually for my using them whenever I write in the vernacular.

And cordial glasses, I can find... but I wouldn’t know Sambuca if it bite me on the ass. B&B, however... but I’ll look under yon bar and see what I can dig up.

I say these two will get quite the workout this year, as in years past. OK. I'm about to become unconscious myself.

Goodnight folks. Have a good talk.
