I'm actually drinking a Warre's Heritage Ruby Porto, but Peaches decided the place to store bottles was above the cupboards, near the ceiling in the kitchen. So every time I use the stove or the oven (or as tonight, both) the temperature suddenly rises around them by several degrees for a couple hours, then drops back down. Needless to say, this is bad for wines, and has nearly ruined my once-lovely vinho do porto

Also, it's nice to see that I'm growing on you, GE. You didn't used to like me. Or you didn't pretend to, at any rate. I'm sort of an acquired taste.

well, RG: from what I remember, our first interaction was on a topic that we were both invested in, for whatever reason, and were both testy about... that said, I've also just become more accustomed with you, your posting style, your humour, etc... as i'm sure you have with me.
sort of like meeting a strong personality for the first time: you can't tell if it's just someone's mood, or if they're always like that, or if you caught them on a bad day, or what. It takes a while to feel it out... I think that's what we've done...
correct me if I'm wrong, of course...

People who don't know me often miss the humor in my posts, and sometimes so do those who know me best (Anti-M). My intentions are also sometimes misunderstood when I'm trying to make someone question their assumptions, or playind Devil's Advocate. I don't think you were around this board when I had that environmentalism thread. That had a few people pissed off, but it got several to think, and that was all I intended. A lot of people tell me they don't know how to take me, but you can't make an omelette without stepping on a few toes. Wait, what?

First time I ever had Yukon Jack was from a big livestock innoculation syringe from in an insulated thermos, at below freezing temperatures on a hot, HOT afternoon on the playa, 2002, from a guy in a doctor outfit. It was great. One of my fondest memories and favorite stories. "I've got the cure for the common hot! Get in line for your cold shots!"

One of the things I like about this particular signature is picturing everyone going for babelfish or their latin dictionaries for a translation. Those that need it, anyway.

RG: i would agree with that: often, when you play DA, you don't preface it at all, you don't mention that that's what you're doing... I think people may tend to take you at face value and think that those are your views.... maybe that's what happened with us... who knows??
at any rate, cheers... here's to learning about ourselves through others...
sput: my porter is empty... may I have another? The darker the better...

Might have been the same guy, different concoction. He was wandering around the esplenade, innoculating passersby. It was YJ and lime juice. I love Yukon Jack, and I've been in this field of poppies a LOOOoong time, and the only truth I've found is right....here....in....this...bottle!

Wasatch Brewing Company (UT) makes a Polygamy Porter. "Why have just one." It sells really well among the heathen population there. And they won a court case that let them (gasp) advertise in print on billboards. That had some people a little upset in Happy Valley.

Greetings, Noir. I drove through Louisville when moving here to VA, and was surprised to discover that it rhymes with "oval."
