bring rock salt, ice sold on playa - i can't picture trying to keep milk good out there, but i'm not big on dairy so maybe a box of soymilk, or just making a sorbet. yummy!

THANK YOU!

I was looking for a good ice cream that didn't need to be frozen beforehand. This looks perfect!

Or, instead of spending $29 plus tax and shipping, you could use coffee cans, available for free.

Yeah, but this is much more spherical, facilitating Bowling for Ice Cream. Although I do remember using coffee cans at scout camp.

Playa ice cream for those of us without access to liquid nitrogen. Mmmm.

I've posted this before...

You don't need the ball. It doesn't collapse and just takes up room. A garbage bag with a good, tight twist-tie will do the same thing.

Make an ice cream base at home, pour it in a reliable Ziploc bag and thoroughly chill. Add it to your drive-in cooler. Fill a garbage bag with ice, throw in the Ziploc, tie it up with a zip-tie and throw around in a circle until All Your Base Belongs to Antarctica.
