Maniac-

That film is destined to be a standard training video!

Yeah... the line where he says "cover the back of your neck with your face..." I had not noticed that before... good move.

Thanks for the note about the propaganda film... I was wondering. Thanks for going through the trouble.

I think I will post your project items on the web site. Do keep up with it, as I'm adding several new things. More tonight and Thurs am.

Jelly- I like the avatar dancing "miniman."

I'm thinking we need to suggest gifting ideas for this year. I propose that we spread freedom and democracy around the world with Oven Mits. Yes, think of all those poor folks in far off countries who live in oppression, because they have been denied oven mits!

Oven Mitts are the Sock Puppet of the Prolitariat.

We could decorate them or better yet, cattle-brand them with an insignia! "No touch, honey... hot hot".

Another cheap and popular gift might be decorated/customized dust masks. Also a great fashion accessort when worn below the shoulder like an armband of defiance. Best manufactured pre-playa unless you want people to loose some brain cells from breating your Sharpie designs. Last year I made some with words over your mouth:

"Cake Hole"
"Kiss Ass"
"42"

Any suggestions on embracing our camp theme with words over your puss? The following come to mind:

"The End"
"Nobility of Struggle"
"Honorable Toil"
"Question Not"
"Work is Good"
"Confess"
"Great Leap Forward"
"Boom"

The shape of these paper/cotton beauties also lends itself well to designs like a brain (over-thematic, much?) or a mushroom cloud. Don't buy the cheapest ones as the straps break causing instant moop. Rather, the next models up that have two straps on them. Anybody got a good source for buying them in bulk?

if enough ppl are wearing them and ppl notice them floating around it could also help spread the word..... imagine.....

wow what a cool mask

yeah i got it from this uber cool camp

Yes, I believe Heli will need kegs for this event

And for all those who venture into the Kantina with their
own tiki mugs, the Ubertender Heli will make his special
mai tai for those lucky few.

Kernul darling,

May I please be the Grand Inquisitor? It's a name my ex gave me and he hates me now... I'm kinda proud of that. He would say I could get information out of a corpse. The dumb fuck just didn't know how to lie.
and fuck you too.

(Sudden loud applause from the audience-- fades and...)
Nat- Dahlink, welcome to the show...

...good to hear from you.

The post of "High Priestess-Grand Inquisitor" may still open, but we will need a resume', you know, typical stuff like education, experience, skills with thumb screws, the rack, breast smothering... ya know like that.

I do believe Helitack is still taking applications, although there may be competition... hmmm.

Oh, Dawg- his official title now is "Kantina Komandant". He's looking at cans I think, although I'll let him share his concept with that. Despite it, we do really need to have Brian's Vodka machine in operation at least once... ah twice, ah... well have the thing handy. Heli likes the pole idea... and apparently so do you Nat.

I got word from cmainiac that he has secured the requested 30 yards of bamboo-reed fence screening-- good show ol chap!

(More applause)

Dawg says he'll supply a second gas grill, and has large propane canisters... with connectors I suppose. He's helping to dream up ideas for the main Kantina structure, and may provide some unique signage with his metal working and welding skills.

(More applause)

I'll upgate the "Get List" on the web site to reflect these positve developments.

Say, we have to take a short break for this word from our sponsor....

(Applause, and fade to black)

ok anyonbe that would like to know my final idea for the weather balloon lighting is goin to be a large (ish) 3 dimensional all seeing eye (you know the pyramid with an eye in it on the back of american notes)

and supended beneath a large kamp logo, unless anyone has any ideas ill get the drawing done for next week and pass them onto the kernul.

got the idea for the all seeing eye from the eyes of god thing figured it would be quite odd to have the all seeing eye hanging above burning man. and the logo makes us easily found.

any comments suggestions etc etc launch them my way.

im also considering the idea suggested of iluminating the inside of the balloons too although it may be impossible due to weight restrictions ( and the fact that helium costs a fortune)

hey Alex-

"im also considering the idea suggested of iluminating the inside of the balloons too although it may be impossible due to weight restrictions ( and the fact that helium costs a fortune)"

You could probably throw el-wire (the really thin kind) in it and run the leaders down to the ground. How high do you think the seeing-eye will be observing everything?

well im not sure on height since i have to evaluate weight of all materials. plus the higher i go the more the teahters are going to weigh. im looking into using high strength fishing line (shark type stuff) but i need to make its safe so not sure what ill be using yet.

with regards to lighting the ballons i intend to place those new super bright led's in them isnce they are light can be run on batteries.

any ideas on raising and lowering would be appreciated. i imagine a simple drum wheel would be sufficient....does anyone have anything like this available, or are there any wodworkers out there who could nkock up a couple of small ones?

im am basing my end of the world on the iluminate and the new world order......a very interesting subject worth looking into

To light up your balloons, try one of those zillion-candle spotlights (lightweight and cheap) with a diffuser on it. You can either squeeze it up inside the balloon or fasten to the outside. Run the 12V wires down to a battery on the ground.

Things are coming together.

On my front here. I am drawing up the final plans for my guard booth and have finished my design for anchoring it to the playa. I am faced with internal conflict on how to paint the exterior of the booth. I have found solar lighting that will hang from above and is relatively cheap. I need to spend a little time working on the arm that raises and lowers to get its mechanics worked out and make sure the physics work. This shack in my mind is intended to stop, inspect, and interogate possible suspects. I have a great uniform of sorts to wear while manning the booth. For those of you who have no idea of what I speak below is a picture of an example of the direction I am going. Of course minus the German solider.

Congratulations on the stream of thought and creativity!!

I am sure you know the old expression... but Alex, talk about "The Balloon Going Up!!" it's fab. The eye on it is great... the proverbial Eye in the Sky!!

Sandwhich Man... if you can pull off the guard shack, your a hero. Ever thought of putting wheels on it? Jellyfish can tow it behind the mutant vehicle, and it could roam. I love the thought of it just appearing in some odd spot, with no reason, to inspect papers (whatever) etc. But, I'll leave that to you... you may want to live in it!

If I add wheel the base of the structure will need to be larger to accomodate the unbalance of the arm that raises and lowers. As I see it now I will place the shack on a simple platform. I am going to eye bolts on the inside space of the platform and the sink U shaped rebar to hold it all upright. I will do some thinking since we have a ways to go and see if it feasible to build some wheels in. I did not quite have time to do the research but I was going to look into the rental of 100ft of chainlink with barbed wire on the top. The put 50ft on each side then apply for it to be placed on the open playa. Imagine walking through a duststorm and coming to a fence as you follow it there is a shack with some nasty looking guard who asks for your papers and slaps on the plastic gloves. Maybe next year but for now an in camp install or even a roving check point sounds good.

Heli- That pulse must hurt... and it's Fri night too. I must tell you, we have a buzz going, and not the kind in the head... OAK on the preferences of the posts.

To all, I have the website (see link below) all set with the Hall of Truth poster collection. Please visit. And thanks to those with submissions... I can feel the dust in my nose now!!! (snifffff... ahhhhh) Thanks to Jellyfish for hosting these. xxooxx! Heli- your fave is there!

Sandwhich Man... yes, it's cool, an in-camp installation... I'm sorta fixed on the camp AS an installation... which is why I'm stoked anout cmaniac's tower, Brian's ideas, the Eye in the Sky Balloon from Alex, etc., and it's probably why we got that buzz going. The whole world is watching... the whole world is watching!!!
