The weather up 'till now has really put the crimp on most socializing. Everybody's been hunkered down, but on Friday I got the feeling that there were some people who were ready to get out. We live in such a summer-oriented community that even us locals forget that there is anything going on in the off-season.

So let me tell you about this party- it was so fun and wacky!
A big ski jump was built that started from the third floor balcony at the big old brothel. It was really steep. The run in went across the road (covered in snow of course), then the kicker started at the playground, which tossed you over a gap about 10ft then into a half pipe built into the palyground. There were a few rail slides and such set up too. There was a band playing on the third floor balcony, and al the balconies and the street were covered in people hanging out watching.
Lots of people took the jump, including a kid who looked about 10 and he totally landed it twice and got big cheers! And my friend took my mountain bike on it twice which got the biggest cheers, it was great! I got a video of it.
So then at about 11 the jumping was finished and everyone headed over to the pub, conveniently located on the other side of the playground, where BCDC a local ACDC cover band played. The pub is small and it was packed shoulder to shoulder everywhere. It was nuts and really loud, I'm still kinda deaf in one ear.
The party carried on all over the block- it was a big block/downtown party. I got to do tours for my friends of our new house, because we're right there.
It worked out nicely as oux welcome to town party. in two weekends it's snowfest- woo hoo!

Thanks GE! You really remind me a lot of my beautiful friend Celeste in your pic right now.
Okay, more party- this town, it's only 300 people and I'm sure there was at least 500 people or more at this party. It just took over. It was great. It was such a ski town thing to do. A friend who writes for ski mags is doing an article on our town and was taking pics. Phew, bought just in the nick of time, hahaha.

Flounder, huh. Can I get in on the fish solidarity clause?Ranger Genius wrote:Well, your absence will be missed, but if you must move on, you must. Do come and visit, though. As Flounder-at-Large, I officially invite you to the cocktail party, even if you're not a denizen of hushville.

Nipples: at leas you have a good story. Any story that involves a rubber chicken is a good one.
My camera just decided to stop focusing. That's infinitely less entertaining.

(Black cat wanders in, tail hangin’ low, pulling a little red wagon)
I’m feeling a little bit sickly today fishy, don’t get too close. Don’t want to give you anything. Thought I’d bring some more coffee in and restock the cupboards.
(reaches and begins grabbing bags of coffee beans marked "Your Favorite Roast" from off the wagon, until all of them are stacked neatly in the pantry)
Ok... Have a good one, people

Morning All! I finally got more than 6 hours of sleep lastnight. It is the first night of continuous sleep I have had since easily November. I feel refreshed and actually a bit alive. All it took was going out for a full 24 hours drinking and rampaging. My next goal is to actually sleep for 8 hours straight.
Anyone pouring this morning or are we on self serve?
So how was everyones weekends? Mine was insane and I wish it would have lasted a bit longer. I went and djed at an afterhours event after hanging with Sandra Collins for a bit. She dropped a great set at a local club and gave me a newer respect for her mixing abilities. We talked for easily a half hour and reminisced about a few shows she had played for friends of mine in AZ. I think I started spinning around 5am as the fire performers started up. The crowd at afterhours was about 100 strong and dancing still. My feet are a bit sore today from dancing so hard.

Oh almost forgot to say it was fucking awesome seeing the surly one, da wop, and Sam on Saturday. It still has me smiling today and waiting to see if Rob is brazen enough to post the pics taken on his phone.
