Is Eplaya just an insiders club for 5 people?

Ok, is it just me, or does it seem like there's only like 5 people posting like 95% of the stuff on this board (not that there's anything wrong with it).
And - does it seem like thread drift caused by these very active people, turns every posting at the top of the list into the new 'chat room'?

Of course you could always
play along
or post totally on topic and contribute enough to the topic to keep it rolling and/ or ignore the fuck out of those that irritate you.
Thread drift can always be redirected if you have something to say. It seems to me that the worst thread drift occurs when people have run out of anything relevent to say on-topic.

i'd have to say no, they don't post 95% of the stuff on the board. for example click on the unanswered threads...loads of those.
while they may participate in thread drift, it doesn't seem that they're the cause.
anyway, c'mon in, post all you like, the water's fine.

Yeah, until you get sunburn and it peels and you're not pissing clear anymore, then whatchooo going to do?
And yes, Madmatt this is a "cool kids club". There are mores and codes of conduct you'll never fathom, secret handshakes, sly winks and "in" jokes for only the annointed. The requirement is having a job that allows for a substantial amount of "fuck-off" time. OCD is also helpful.
Have a nice day, and thanks for your thoughts!

Funny you should mention the unanswered post thing. That was what prompted this thread. I found the row of a dozen "0 replies" sort of depressing, kind of like a message in a bottle that never arrives at a shore, while someone somewhere is sitting on a cyber desert island, waiting for a reply (Wait, doesn't that sound like a song by the Police??)
More of an experiment than a serious rant. Thread drift is more evidence (i think) of people actually communicating, instead of just posting their two bits and leaving. So I guess that means I like it.

To whom it may concern:
Considering my ass is at the top of the Top 10 list, I think I'll toss a post in here. First the list:
Kinetic: 589 Princess Strych-9: 577 PJ: 569 Lydia Love: 469
Precipitate: 367 III: 324 TestesInSac: 320 Ivy: 317
Badger: 248 Borris: 223
Not that I need to go on the defensive but e-playa has been like crack lately. Very addicting. The regulars know what I'm talking about.
But e-playa has also been very helpful to me. I have a lot of personal battles I'm fighting right now, I'll spare everyone the pity party.
E-playa helps me take my mind off of those messes. I also have the luxury of some time at work to post. My job is in flux. I may not have one in a month. The time is there, I balance it out with other things. And I certainly have a life outside e-playa. There are a lot of people who know about it that would speak up on my behalf and confirm it.
So e-playa is my decompression. I won't be able to make it to the SF Decomp so I'm decompressing here with a group of people I like and some I know and love to call friends.
I'm also on here to offer advice and encouragement to newbies, to get people to take the plunge and come to BRC in 04. I'm also trying to become a regional coordinator for BM. I am on here to get ideas, toss ideas around, and if I get the position become a very strong and effective regional coordinator.
Those are my main reasons for being here...I help myself while I help others. I won't be able to post like this much longer as my life accelerates again. But I'm enjoying my time and being on top of the list, and with that, get involved and catch me if ya can!
And as for the thread topic? You make your own experience. This is my way of making my BM experience stay alive off playa. And I have no regrets about it. It's certainly not a special club...it's all about not being a spectator....participate!
(Actually I just wanted to be a post whore and beat PJ for once, but he'll smoke my ass soon enough!)

even tho we're neck and neck, i'm sure you'll concede, kinetic, that our experiences in the top ten have been very different.
for me the quantifying factors are as follows:
a) coming home to find that my pm folder was %100 full.
b) number of marriage proposals.
c) number of ongoing cyber sex negotiations.
d) number of pm messages that read: "hey, nice ass!"
have you gotten any of those, kinetic?

Your mission,. should you decide to accept it, is to reply to every unaswered post with a nice thought.
"No I didn't find your thong underwear, but it sounds like it would set off your eyes very well."
"I was there. I met you. I enjoyed it. Please do not contact me again."
"No I didn't find your daily pillbox, but I hope you do."
Stuff like that, warm and fuzzy and full of good cheer. Leave no post unanswered and you'll sleep like a baby!
