Heh. I'm generally more blatant than that when I beg. (When I went to buy my custom corset [as seen in a recent avatar], I posted to my journal and noted that if everyone who was listed as reading me sent me $2, I could pay for it outright. I wound up with almost enough in my PayPal account for the downpayment.)Zulegoona wrote:Great pan handling line PurplePurpleKoosh wrote:Ooh! One of my local dancer friends just got a regular gig doing Afro-belly fusion at a Caribbean restaurant...I needs me some money so I can go cheer her on.
What's really sad is that I'm capable of being that utterly shameless for something frivolous like that - and yet when it comes to basic needs, I have trouble accepting loans from people ('cause I don't know if/when I'll be able to repay them) and still more trouble accepting gifts. Even something as basic as when Geekster offered to buy me dinner at karaoke the last time I was there.

Anything purple is mine. Anything else can be dyed or painted.

the more I think about it it does seem really hard,.. having a shorter trip was appealing with less travel time and at around $350 something for the flight it would be cheaper than driving alone but then there is all the stuff I'd need to get in Reno and the fact that I've gotten used to and enjoy my comfort.

Promise. I actually have a friend who has started making her own yarn falls, which (pending funds for supplies) I might actually try myself - it's bound to be easier and cheaper than dying this mop again.GuinivereElise wrote:oh, and purple, I paid a ridiculous amount of money for these things: if you go to the website, do me a favor, and don't tell... m'kay?

not at all Z... I just thought that you had decided not to go...
are you coming, after all???
I would gladly set you all up with me madre... she's the sweetest ever, and, as a newbie, would love some help, I'm sure. (she's travelling right now with another newbie, Erik....... oddly enough, an old boyfriend of mine, from the 9th grade)

Guin, I appreciate that.
I'm bringing a ton of stuff with...glad I have a pickup with a topper on it! I'm going to stop whenever I need to and sleep and look around at stuff. I decided that since I'm turning the big 40 that it's my present to myself to go.
30 degrees! AAIIEE!! How do you stay out at night and keep warm? Bundle up like a yeti?

So the theme this year is like a giant camp out in the desert? With people bringing lots of shit from all over? uh.. -Marscrumbs

I'll PM you with some details about me madre...
as far as 30 degree nights: I didn't expect it at all... I froze. I had a thermal underwear shirt from a new friend, and some faux fur pants that I made, but really, I was damned cold, and damned uncomfortable. BRING WARM CLOTHES. seriously. PLUS my SO and I got in an argument about it.... it's just not worth it!!! Bring some costume stuff that's warm and cozy. Yeti. yes. Fur boots, some layers, think antartica. You can always remove layers....

I'm actually thinking about buying a different truck. I only have a little 4 banger with no AC but it's all paid for so I'll probably just get it tuned up and ready to roll.
