Generator Question - Specifically Honda EU1000i

I'm thinking about buying a EU1000i Generator for BM2005. Anyone have any experience with it. I went to demo it today and it was quiet as a whisper. Please, no comments about how noisy generators are. I know that, that's why I'm looking at this one.

Understand that, touchy subject around here. I *think* its one my Uncle bought for fly-fishing camping. Not had any problems with it, but I have only gone camping a few times with him.

Our camp has the 3000 model.Probably don't need that much power but it was the only Eu with a push button start.Had re-occuring nightmares about pull cords after the 2001 Burn.
Very,very quiet.Lost track of how many people wondered where our generator was as they could not hear it.It also is a trooper with the dust.Unbelieveably on its' last service the air filter did not need to be replaced.The only thing to concern yourself with is to try and keep it out of direct sunlight for a prolonged(1-2 hours)period of time.It will cut out otherwise.Simply moving it to a shady spot throughout the day or a shade structure will solve that problem.
A wonderful machine this EU series.Doubt if you could do better.

in 2002, a friend of mine powered his camp with a Eu2000. He build a noize dampening box for it but realized that it wasn't necessary. you couldn't even hear the thing about 10 paces away.

If you really want to be super noise concious though, you could set up a bank of car batteries. Charge them with the generator, then draw your power from the completely quiet batteries. This way, you're only running the genny when power get's low.

bigger is better.
if your looking at a 1000 honda,
really start looking at 2000 to
3000 generators.
Mister Jellyfish try looking at 5000
to 6000 for our camp .
i need at least 5000 for small
welding repairs we might need
