Fly Trap

Post by Mister Jellyfish Mister » Tue Feb 15, 2005 9:57 pm

I love the full layout concept on your website, Kernul. I e-mailed you some ideas that may maximize space and utility for my end of paradise. Please be sure and position 7 to 8 of the Pikes of Paranoia along the perimeter of the kamp. From now on I will not use the letter k. Instead, I will use the letter k.

I got to thinking about the Kourtyard (sp?) 8)
If I were walking by such a forboding and awesome kamp, I might think twice about entering. The M-1 aimed at me might make me think yet again. Is there some very tongue in cheek way we could make the fly come to the spider? The courtyard could be a very inviting facade. Happy workers. Cheerful maniquins with whistfully mechanical waiving arms. Hall of Truth posters. Promise of sex. Anything the psyche wants. You get the idea.

There was a great scene in the movie Waterworld where they killed all the workers on an oil darek and tied ropes to their arms to make them look like they were waving.

Just when they discover they have entered a trap, Helitak produces a cool drink with a wry wink and chuckle. "Resistance is useless, Komrade."

Yes, you got it exactly. The Kourtyard is just the kind of space for this- an avenue of the ubsurd... a gallery of the gruesome so to speak. I'd be drawn there, as I would be repelled by an entrance of pink fluffy say.

Your trailer could be nicely dressed out with applications of various materials to give it a nice junkyard look... I'll send ideas as they come.

Finding Patches and Stickers for a Theme Camp

Post by Killbuck » Wed Feb 16, 2005 7:00 pm

To all APOKILIPITIKONS

The numbers of our camp comrades has grown to a rather commodious size, which offers the following possibilities:

Official Unifoirm Patches
Yes, can you see it... official logo patches!!!

Official Stickers!
What great gifting bits, eh?

So, buckaroos, here's the Q. I've been paroosing various sources for both, but one of you out there may just know of a source which may offer us a swingin' deal. There MUST be a burner out there in this world who would just LOVE to help out a struggling theme camp with such a request.

Quantity lowers unit cost as we know. If we can get a good deal, we can spliy out the initial cost... and with our numbers spells cheap cheap, have cool items for us and to gift generously.

What say ye

I have a friend who owns (or at least used to own) a promotional products company. Let me find his contact info. Email me a copy of the logo (are you sure you don't want a year on the patch? I suppose you could use the same ones the following year without one), but the prices he quoted me for three-color patches were much lower than anything I found anywhere else, especially with a qty around 200. I'm not a member of your kamp, but I'm sympathetic to the kause.

Yes, please do send some contact info. Can you use the jpg on the message above?

I think I'd like to be non year, more versitile that way. Your assistance to the Kause is most commendable.

And with a magnanimous gesture and much fourish and fanfar, the Kernul swept his hand accross the playa, knocking down the disgraceful shanties of the politariot. And then there was great suffering and a feast.

That's great. We could put it on the What Where When calendar and when people show up we could set the straight. "No no. YOU lick OUR boots!"

I can contribute a 300 watt pro bass amp and speaker box that could be the "subwoofer" for our audio system. Also an Ipod with a ton of tunes loaded in a huge playlist from mp3's or CD's sent to me long before the event. Does anybody have a couple of tweeter arrays or horns for the mid-high end and a stereo amp/receiver that has a sub-woofer output jack? Then there's the generator. Anyone? Anyone? Bueler?

Building a bigger unit with a longer pole, and camo undies

Post by Killbuck » Thu Feb 17, 2005 8:11 pm

http://gallery.bcentral.com/Gallery/Pro ... ept=111071

This above is for Nat, who requested a nice site for obtaining camo undies.

The Dawg is considering the idea of making the Kantina of 10 foot sections, which will make the overall structure rather larger. If it's no blems to transport, sounds good. We'd need more camo nets to cover though.

I have a couple, and sent info to the loop on sources. Anyone have some, gonna get some?

With a taller structure, we need to get a longer stripper pole, huh?

Damn details.

the pole

Post by dirtyb » Fri Feb 18, 2005 3:29 am

Sir Kernul "Need a Bigger Pole" Killbuck,

The research I have completed shows clear PVC pipe can be shipped regular post up to 8 feet. Of importance is the weight and diameter of the pole (a fieldtrip to OG is in order), and a food quality plastic for transporting the vodka. With a dome of height 11 ft, the pole should be long enough given a bar height of 3 to 3.5 ft. This should be long enough to account for the distance from the top of a dome for structural integrity to the base of the bar height, which should be close to the same height as the dance floor.

So no concerns Sir Kernul, your pole is just long enough (just keep the lights out, we've got an aircraft black-out, ya know).

Kourtyard

Post by Mister Jellyfish Mister » Fri Feb 18, 2005 6:58 am

Mon Kernul: IMHO the Kourtyard should be the loudest place for music and imagery. Komrades konverse at the Kantina so nobody will want a speaker in their ear.

With all of our elaborate costumes, could we rig them about the perimeter of the courtyard with strings tied to a limb hooked to a slag line that will move them? We could use a simple low rpm motor like the one that powers MiniMan's brain to tug the string in a simple animitronic way. Easy to remove when you want to wear one.

All are welcome!

Resistance is Useless!

I'll be on a business trip for a week so I'll hook up with you on returning.

Kernal, a virutal beer is no good.
A minimun of rum & coke is needed.

Maybe a equal shot of 3 types of rum
wil do:
bananna rum
coconut rum
pinapple rum
over a glass of crusshed ice
then a can of Shasta Tiki punch soda
poured over it.
Very Tasty

OK Buckaroos, here's the deal

Post by Killbuck » Sat Feb 19, 2005 6:15 pm

The Dawg came by today, and showed a prototype for the Kantina assembalge. AOK. We will make this thing a bit gigger, using 10 ft conduit sections... a comodius hooch. We still need to calculate, but it WILL need that taller stripper pole.

Miniman is moving along well, and now has a face.

The Tactical Mini Van is getting it's parts made up, and going well.

Approaching 1000 visits to the humble little website, which has several new entries.

Hall of Truth Poster Collection has been booming! Link on the web site below.

Music scene for camp being taken on by Jelly.

Still looking for patch and sticker source.

Still looking for Nat... Dahlink, where are you Honey?

Lastly, the theme camp questionaires will open next week. I will send in the details then. Expect a dispatch PM to all APOKILIPTIKA minions later this eve. I'll need some details to help with the questionaire.

What I did for President's Day

Post by Killbuck » Mon Feb 21, 2005 8:32 pm

I hope all of you had a ball for your President's Day weekend. I know I had a hoopee one. Did all the traditional stuff, spent a night in the Lincoln Bedroom, left a whoppee cusion in the oval office. Then, it was off to the G. Washington look alike contest at Mt Vernon- came in 17th. I hopped back on the black Lear Jet, zipped back west and had cocktails at Area 51-all the dead Presidents are there, and have shin-dig-- big wa-wa social. Harding is looking goooood. Yo, Homie!

Well, after way too much fun, I took the high speed underground borer back to the bunker, got a good nigt's sleep and had a quiet day in the War Room, reading "The Prince."

I'll be off on a secret mission to San Diego Tuesday through Friday. Mind your Ps and Qs.

Jelly- did I crash your server with all the shit I sent while you were on your secret mission? Hey, missed you at 51... Nixon and Woodrow said you were coming. Oh well. See ya Friday.
