M wanders into the bar...bumps into a few chairs until her eyes get accustomed to the lower light level then what is outside....

Oh, excuse me.....Afternoon everyone!!
Speaking of crawdads...I've never seen so many and as big as the time I was at a friends cabin a few years back and they had mowed the grass near the shore and some grass was in the water. The grass was literally covered with crawdads and frogs! I was amazed!

So, what's for lunch? Rock lobster?

I went to the grocery store today and bought some foodstuff that I normally wouldn't buy, thinking to broaden my food horizon. Came out with a box of couscous and pawlenta (sp). They didn't have any Humus, dang I like that stuff!

polenta is anathema to cryptic fishes. Too much mushness. Now Couscous--especially the easy cook whole wheat--staple. On the fence ont eh hummus question.

A pitcher of Pago Pago Octopus and couscous chaser. I'm going to get rowdy edrunk and complain my head off about a whole slew of losers--um users on this board who just cant shut up about how much they hate each other. Just step out of the arguement, people. It's totally stupid and the ground here has gotten so low that I get a crick in my neck looking up to Heli in Death Valley. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to show you a productive use of time--banging my snout against the bowl 24915464561 times.

Just so long as he doesn't cook with his motor oil!

BTW both the local dailies have had articles in the food section about following the new FDA dietary guidelines. Eating healthy is hard work.

*tish slithers expertly down the rope, drops onto the bar and plants happy kisses on everyone present - from atop the bar, of course - whispers "you're welcome!" in M's ear, and "you too!" in Zule's, then jumps down behind the bar and fetches the almost-full and dusty bottle of maker's mark. then leaps back atop the bar, grabs the rope, winks, smiles, and touches the side of her nose, and the rope ascends, with tish attached.*

bye y'all!! thanks, fishy!!

{giggles wanders back in with a fifth of peppermint schnapps and a large canister of hot chocolate mix, checks the cane pole, changes to a fuzzy hook and baits it with kind words}

okay, so I have a kickass polenta recipe if I can remember offa hte top o'me head.....

lightly oil the bottom of a baking dish, arrange 1/2 of the polenta slices, sprinkle half a can of drained black beans and half a can of drained hominy (trust me here), spoon of chile sauce (see below), sprinkle with some montery jack cheese, repeat layers. OH, and drizzle the polenta with a little heavy cream (or be good and drizzle with a little milk).

Special Sauce
2 little cans of green chiles
1/2 cup or so of salsa verde
handful or so of chopped (shit I can't think of it, an herb, give me a minute)
1/4 tsp of cumin
a couple cloves of garlic, chopped up

YUMMY

I can't think of any Beatle's songs I consider particularly annoying, I always liked the later songs better, I liked the experimentation and diversity of songs on the albums.

Dang Martian, you're right about that. It is an annoying song. Of course Revolution Number 9 is annoying, but it's hardly a song.
