you know it's bad when the clean clothes pile is getting just as large as the dirty clothes pile, sheesh.
Hmmm... sounds fairly normal to me.

as a mater of fact I heard that phrase more than once growing up,.. by the time we started making Molotov cocktails the folks realized shooting an eye out wasn't the worst thing we could do.

Not really, I started costume designing for something to go with the Kamp Apokiliptika theme, and bought a helmet to start modifying but haven't got to it yet.

Well... for one thing, I’m reworking the camper top for my truck. I sewed up a canvas one for last year. I’m doing a new one in vinyl for this year, I think. Even with seam sealer and water proofing, it leaked a few drops here and there. It'll be the same light tan color, though. And I’m building a sort of plywood shelf system inside the camper to hold stuff in an orderly manner and still give me a place to sleep.

You?

yeah I'm part of a team which is building 6 side-by-side bicycle driven rickshaws that are gonna be decorated by different folks, it's gonna be fun.

my own project is to morph my own rickshaw into a more loungy 6 person solor/battery driven pleasure model rickshaw, oh yeah!!!

as far as living arrangements, I finally put everything together last year so that's just a pack-n-go...

How hard is it to pedal your rickshaw on the playa? they and some of the custom built tikes seem really cool but some of them look like they'd be a bitch to power around in the soft dust.

Tis a shame I found the Kamp Apokiliptika after the recruitment period closed. My boss refers to me as his "post-industrial hippy".. lol
I am in the process of finishing the interior of my 1972 VW Bus - I am going for a Ali Babba feel for it.. Fairly decadent in scope. The Beast seems happy finally afer my dumping $4k into its mechanical well being.. it is responsible for my not attending last year - motor blew two weeks before BM and I had to sell my ticket to apply towards repairs..

Oh, man... I’m thinking of something like that. But if not, I’ve at least got my current bike. I took the seat off and replaced it with two (front and back configuration) old metal seats from a rusty piece of farm equipment that’s in my back field.

I was running people back and forth to the porta potties last year. And it’s a great way to tour the open playa with somebody else.

Yeah, my camper is sort of dual purpose. I've got plans this year to sleep in the truck both at the event and on the trip out and back. Save a little $$. Diesel was $2.22 a gallon here today. Jumped about 15 cents in a week. Scared to ask what it is on the west coast. 5000 miles round trip last year. Probably even more this year.

oh yeah!!!! on the main roads early in the week it's all good, no problem. later in the week it gets rutted out and stuff, blehh! I made the mistake of not bringing taller rear gearing so, yes, at times it was difficult. With the proper gearing however it should be no prob. The side-by-side bicycle rickshaws are powered by two people so thats going to be cool.

my rickshaw on the other hand, uh uh, I'm not doing that again, I was wiped out when it came time to go out for the night so solar/battery power for this kid this go around...

Even with a passenger on the back of my bike, it was a snap to pedal. Barely any difference at all actually (but I stayed in lower gears too). I did try and avoid the soft parts, but that got harder as the week went on. Even then the big tires helped a bunch.

Hello, there!!! Wow... I hope to see that bus. I"m seriously thinking about building a gypsy wagon, but one that would slide into the back of my truck like a typical slide-in camper. Lots of gingerbread trim outside and nice fabrics on the inside.

with it being fully powered or even a power assist will you have to try to license it as a mutant vehicle since it has a seat for the operator?

Thanks for the cold one Noir... I have your poster.. heh.

The fun part about the Bus is that I have decided to not paint the Beast.. Instead, I am bringing it primed to the playa... parking it on a tarp and bringing a shit-load of paints and brushes along with a sign that says "PAINT ME"... I figure if I get it covered - next year I can have a "primer party" on Day 1 and do it all over again...

So the likelihood of getting it covered is good then? LOL..

I figure the only place that will be off limits will be the roof where my luggage rack is... I am going to paint that midnight blue with a starfield.. the first pait on it will be the Tree of Life on my front bonnet. The luggage rack was yanked of a junker at the local Pick n Pull - $20.. Most expensive damn thing is going to be the friggin trailer hitch.. $199.

The pictures are wonderful, as was the gift (completely unnecessary, mind you, the hospitality was a delight to give--and early morning cuddling in front of the fire was more repayment than I ever could have asked for ), and the incense was pure bliss. I'll send blue's on to her, as asked. (hear that blue?? pictures, coming your way!)

You're both gems!

Z, I haven't been around much. Dad was pissed about the car, so I've been grouchy. I feel really bad about it. Now it's vibrating and making noise too. I'm scared to tell him about it.

Remember, this has been a testing mode...and things had to be banged on and fixed. We'll roll out the rest of the place once we have all that stuff sorted, and can meet with the eplaya team to review the week or so of input on the rest of the features you guys are helping to talk about.
