Pick one:

- Signs point to yes.
- Yes.
- Reply hazy, try again.
- Without a doubt.
- My sources say no.
- As I see it, yes.
- You may rely on it.
- Concentrate and ask again.
- Outlook not so good.
- It is decidedly so.
- Better not tell you now.
- Very doubtful.
- Yes - definitely.
- It is certain.
- Cannot predict now.
- Most likely.
- Ask again later.
- My reply is no.
- Outlook good.
- Don't count on it.

Here is what I have heard:

Yes he will be there.
No he will not be doing a temple.

If you look at the video that CowboyAngel put up a while back in the San Rafel thread someplace else around here, David mentions the name of the person heading up the Temple Crew this year.
Pabst Blue Ribbon - The beer that made Gerlach famous.

Oh gee, whatever shall we burn on Sunday night?? Whatever it is, I hope it's sacred and there's no lasers.

David was in Michigan a bit over a month ago and spoke about his playa temple projects and the "temple crew" that has developed over the years. The gist of what he said was that yes, he'll be on playa this year doing a project but not the big temple project. However that doesn't mean "no temple". He also spoke about how the temple crew has developed into such a strong team that they -- as a group -- are still doing a large scale temple that (I think) will burn Sunday night on playa.

Well the grants that were given out were in the March 14 JRS and there are two that I think apply to this topic.

Temple of Dreams by Mark Grieve and crew of Petaluma, CA
Tower of Dreams by David Best of Petaluma, CA

I think we can assume the Temple is the Sunday night burn and who knows what is David's is but I'm sure it will be good.

confirmed. David's piece is especially interesting, and I haven't seen the temple plans that the crew want to do but I have always been impressed with the collaboration of that crew, so I have high hopes we'll be graced with something incredible. PS a great act of appreciation would be to volunteer for the temple cleanup crew. (BTW that's spoken as a fan of the Temples and of supporting what I love, not so much as a mouthpiece of your friendly neighborhood Burning Man Project.)

Why I'm not doing the Temple

First Temple, Michael was killed on a motorcycle, without his death
who knows what we would be building now. All the thousands of people
who used and built the Temples, changed my life, oh how I love you
all. Kelly my son asked me - how can you not do it again? He has
tears in his eyes, oh my son how I love him. Phone rings - "What's
going on with the temple?"

OK - the temple crew is building it this year. Mark is doing the
design, the crew's building it.

Why I'm not doing the temple - the crew is building it. Who's the
crew? You are the crew and I'm behind them always.

We have developed into a family, body, team, we love one another and
build for just one person; who that is we always find out. My one
person is the woman whose son took his life one week before the event,
she thought it was her fault; the man who came up to me and said we
set his son free, took his life, thought it was his fault; the kid who
was angry because his father killed himself when he was 14 years old,
thought it was his fault; the girl whose sister jumped off the bridge,
thought it was her mother's fault; Richard who saw something no one
should have seen, thought it was his fault. This year I'm going to
burning man to just be with those people, it's not your fault.

I'm so proud of the team, and am and always will be with them,
wherever I am.

Why I'm not doing the temple? The crew is doing it.
