actually, nitrous is perhaps the least damaging substance that one could put in their body, recreationally speaking...

Makes everything go wah wah wah wah wah..... I've had lots of it medically and once recreationally in big fat balloons in a dead show parking lot. Never made it in to see the band, but I sure wasn't minding a bit! very silly indeed.

I don't know about least damaging. Any chemical that cuts the supply of oxygen off to the head to induce a sense of a high is not necessarily the best thing for ya. Just my opinion. I am not sure of the medical behind it but I know it is not as wonderful for you as might be imagined. I don't mean this in a bad way but more to encourage my friends to use caution. I know ya all do but I still care and want to reiterate it.

Good tip, Sandwichman.
I've only had Nitrous Oxide at the dentist.

She knows to turn it up PAST all the way, likes to
see me fetal curl when they go to lunch.

However, a tech is ever present, to balance Oxygen
and most of all, to bring it slowly back, my level
of oxygen, or you can get the "benz" (bends?!), just like
divers coming up too fast. Can be fatal.

Though I am loath to promote illicit drug use,
it may be appropriate to note that the use of an inflated
balloon-full taken at will is better than a mask one might
fall too far beneath to recover from.
