Seems there is a reoccuring mention of bad attitudes with dpw carnies.Some of thease people are bad foe burningman ,most are hard working burners,Bad ones die.

Normally I would say give the guy a chance to explain what he has to say. The problem is this was not the way to go about it, and with that many typo's and such it would be difficult to have much credibility in what you have to say.

I say just let this thread sink to the bottom of the pool.

Thanks for the constructive response doctor.One of my freedoms is to construct the english language as i see it or feel it.I will not tell you to fuck off.by the way ,do you represent the good hard working side of dpw or the few bad boys who are becomming a liability to the community.After 10 years of burns i am seeing a trend that is not approiate,perhaps because of the size of the event.I like your picture,good looking ,it seems that i am twice your age and that could explain your response.Good to here from you anyway,its your freedom

Ever hear of " don't poke the bear "? The DPW do there job just great. What else people do is on them alone. I for one have never been affected by any poor action of the admin. Sugggest you take you "personal" complaint to BMorg. This is from some one "much" older than you.

First and foremost, I represent myself in the best light possible. That's not to say that I don't make mistakes or get a bit silly at times but, to answer your question, I would be honored to directly represent the DPW. As it stands at this very moment, I have their back from any angle or direction possible.

Naken, if you are going to throw around statements such as you have, again, perhaps a little forethought and fact would help instead of suckerpunching and running away. Look at what you are saying here:

you start by saying there is talk of something then you say that you personally are seeing something (what is it that you are seeing?). What the fuck! Which is it? please show that you are genuinely concerned and not just suckerpunching by sharing what you have heard and where you heard it --OR-- please share your personal experiences so that what you are hearing or what you are perceiving can be discussed in an intelligent manner. If you can't do that, please take your brand of propaganda elsewhere. If you won't do that then I still say fuck off.

If you have a beef with a DPW volunteer, I recommend that you take it to someone who cares, not just make troll-like posts. The person who would most care about possible inappropriate (within DPW standards of course) would be that person's foreman.

I've read all 17 of your posts, and I'm still not seeing any evidence that you're nothing but yet another naked "participant" who doesn't actually participate in the volunteer activities of the City. '02 was your first year? That's nice. I guess that makes you an expert then. '05 might be a good year to put your "veteran" skills to work and help make BM happen, rather than just be yet another naked bike rider.

For instance...

If you would like to participate with the DPW, and then you are welcome to help me with the porta-potties. Or if construction, electrical, plumbing, surveying, or a multitude of other skills is your fancy, then I'm sure we'd love to hear from you.

This board is owned and maintained by the org with several DPW volunteers as active members. Honestly, if you have what you think are valid concerns I would be one of the first to want to hear them. Unfortunately, since I cant see any specifics, I dont think its reasonable to expect a different reaction.

The DPW have to put in a lot of work, many times thier efforts are behind the scenes and taken for granted. On top of that, they still dont have the number of people on board to properly handle things like cleanup - which they have to gather more people in off season to go back and almost scrub the playa. Just recently a volunteer group returned to clean up an incredible ammount of MOOP that people leave behind or the event runs the risk of cancellation for a failed environmental inspection.

Not to be an asshole about it, but I would strongly recommend volunteering for DPW yourself to gain a better insight into what is done. They could really use the help, especially with cleanup.

The clean-up weekend was not only very productive, but was a great time. The DPW people we worked with were dedicated to the work they have to do.. They are dedicated to making BRC a reality every year. These are the people who build the infrastructure.. they create the streets, build the man, build his base, set-up center camp, and then tear it all down... there is someone, or someones, from DPW at the RAnch right now getting shit ready for your enjoyment. Most of the DPWers I met at the MOOP weekend are long time Burners. They aren't saints mind you.. and thank god for that....

I am so confused... I am guessing that "professor" is BullD...
and... and.. the Holy COw is DPW...

Respond to what? Please give us something concrete to respond to. Just "DPW is bad, mmmkey" is not much to discuss. (Ok, we could go to "are not! are too! are not!", but where's the fun in that?)

Let me rephrase that: please answer the following questions.

1) What do you mean when you say that there are "bad foe" for burning man among DPW? How does this badness manifest? Have you personally experienced this badness? If so, what happened?

2) What do you mean by "bad ones will die"? Is this a metaphorical wish about what you feel should happen, a threat, or something else completely?

I'm waiting for Bob or one of the other DPW people to come in here and lay the smack down on this guy. It'll all be over fairly quickly at that point.

DPW are the unsung heroes of the event. I'd go so far as to say that No DPW = No BM. They can be a little rough to deal with but I'm damn thankful to have 'em...
