florida burners...where are you????

I feel pretty left out. I mean Ive lived in florida for a while and cant seem to get any response. is there even anything that goes on down here or is florida just not into it.
If there is someone out there that would like to share anything...please post.

2 more future burners and future Floridians here. My husband and I are moving to Winter Park (Orlando area) next month, and have tickets to this year's burn. Would love to hook up with some fellow burners when we get down there. There's no regional?! Our current housemate went last year and is the regional contact this year, so I know it can be done. Let's fire this thread up, start making connections, and get a little community going down there!!!

I am an Orlando native who stumbled across a story about Burning Man. My interest was instantly piqued and after very little research I knew that I wanted to be on the Playa this year. I am a Burning Man virgin and can't wait for the thrills I'm sure to experience. :P

I'm in central alabama and am going for the 3rd time this year and want either a rider/driver or a ride but can't seem to hook up with anyone close by. If you go through, let's caravan or something. I went the southern route via I40 last year but still prefer I70/I80.

The time is approaching fast.. Me and a few others are leaving the Central Florida are to make the journey out to the playa. The caravan leaves the Deltona/Daytona Beach area the night of the 25th and arrives in Gelrach, NV on or before the day of the event. Im not camping with a village so if anyone is interested in camping with us let me know.. Time is short so let me know......

I've been to the burn for the past 3 years. I am not going this year due to school and I am soooo depressed! I feel like an alien here and the mothership is leaving for home without me. I heard there is a Burning Man party at Paradise Lakes Resort in Land O Lakes Florida in Tampa. It starts the 27th of Aug and ends the 28th of Aug. They will have a Man to burn along with black lite body painting and stuff. This is a clothing opt. place. Never been there. I am hoping to get as many burners there who cannot go the BRC this year. I WILL BE AT BRC NEXT YEAR!!! Your can look up the Paradise Lakes Resort Event on www.paradiseclubs.com.

For those going to BRC this year, have a great time and a safe journey!!

Y'know. I'm really rethinking this Paradise Resort thing. It's just that these BM withdrawals are just so severe. I am finding myself grasping at all pathetic attempts in recreating the experience if you will. BM is my home. I have yet to find anything remotely comperable to that. I have been finding myself looking at flights and such though I know due to school I should be more disciplined. Maybe head out Wednesday. Damn, I hate responsibilities. I miss my brothers and sisters and BRC. I miss the Playa Dust, the self-expression, the art, kick ass tunes, the chai at center camp. Excuse my rant. I want to go home!!!

(For those having trouble finder burners in yer baked chunk of swamp, there are 203 registered users on our chat list, and there are folks all across the state.)

Anyone here going to the Florida Preheat in Lakeland?

This is my first burning event, hooked up with some burners in Tampa recently and got invited. Been dreaming about burning man since I was in early college. Can't wait to finally get involved.

I went to Preheat last year...it is the most unburn "burn" I could have ever concieved of. The folks that put on Alchemy, the Georgia burn, will be there. Look for Bender Blender and tell them Glory Hole sent ya.

Also, wander around asking for Victoria and Jordan. They'll probably be there - Sauce, too...there's a HUGE Florida crew. Tell 'em Doom sends her love.

You can't miss me, I'll be a single guy alone in a 10 person tent. Unfortunately primitive camping isn't something my pregnant wife will be doing so she's only coming out to experience one day, but she's looking forward to next year.
