you think they'd know that making by making "official pronouncements" about anything pretty much assures that the the opposite will happen. What's more fun than calling it "the stick," knowing that it's pissing someone else off.

I heard the rangers were call him the Big Stick. Maybe size does matter.

On my left shoulder I have a tat of pentagon with red flags at each shoulder, field filled with playa cracks, and a western horned lizard <i>couchant</i> in the center. Got it in a dusty trailer on the ranch three years ago or so.

Coyote just got the DPW emblem on his right calf, and he says it hurts like hell at the moment.

Well, not quite. Although there was one upper crusty that passed on to the Rangers that use of the term needed to stop. Having never used the term myself I (and others) immediately started referring to it as 'The Stick' as soon as the we caught wind of this 'suggestion' and a good number of us continue to do so. I really don't fucking like the idea of anyone telling me (or others) what and what not to say. It's the slippery slope of group think/Newsppeak that if not checked can be a portent of a myopic, lock-step, group mentality that I want no part of and am all too willing to rail against.
