I'm working on some exterior LEDs to extend the effect, after realizing that the ground-lighting enables you to see obstacles in the dark JUST in time to trip over them....Maybe a sporran with fog lights!

Kilt Peepers

Nice! Underlighting it is... So let it be written, so let it be done!

I've got a bunch of violet LED's that would be cool The Utilikilt Gift is a caramel color heavy canvas, much like Carhardt work cover all canvas. You make a good point about not seeing where you are going, Robot. Can we brainstorm on a sporan design that provides forward "foglight" just like those headlamps people wear? That and lighting the undercarraige is all you need to shine your dime.

Dougaldutch: I loved wearing your gift of kilt in the daytime last year. Is there a kind of legging you think fab and stylish for cold evening kilt wear? Fishnets perhaps?

Bonnie Lass: "What do you wear under your kilt?"

Playa Scott: "Lipstick on a good day. Want to make it a good day?"

For the Forward-Illuminating Hairy Man Purse (F.I.H.M.P.) I think a handful of bright LEDs mounted around the periphery of the sporran so that they point downwards at about 60 degrees or thereabouts would work- The little automotive ones'll throw a yard-wide lightspot at ten feet. One technical problem is that walking action causes the sporran to swing a mite, which sweeps the lighted area back and forth causing a potentially vertiginous sensation.....Have to create a gimballed sporran, obviously.
