Just got back, had to duck for a sec... those guys at Apolkili with their howitzers... go figure!
I hate that - My ex- and I had a cat that was hit by a car and lived tho was blind - did OK for about a year and a half but all of the sudden lost it and we had to put it down - not fun. (BTW, that was all of $7500, not that money counts, but it hurt.) Then behind that we took grandma's cat in when she passed and all was fine for amost 2 years, until it developed a tumor the size of a lemon on it's arm and chest... in a week. Our loving vet wanted to pull tests (again, to the tune of $7000) and told us at best the cat would lose his right arm and probably that side of his chest, and no guarantee it wouldn't recurr...
Losing him hurt *bad*.
So, my dear, I do feel for you... More than you know.
(Takes bottle of Patron Silver out of hide-away safe and sets it on the bar in front of Sput)
This is on me, hon... and all the beer chasers you desire. And a hug to both you and your feline friend... ALmost in tears, y'know...

Sorry, got the barbecue running, and bopping in and out.
Here ya go, 666. (and a couple winks, too!!)
And yes, I threw a couple of those Guiness on dry ice, they ought to be nice and icey by now!!
(Rounds to the guys, one for Z when he gets back!)
Gotta see if the coals are ready... marinated beef ribs and dry-rubbed pork spareribs, and some of my homemade sweet-hot sauce, Texas style..... Loooove that BBQ!!

Howdy, cowboy... feeling a little buzzed, huh?
Thanks for sharing that article link, BBSue. I’ve said it before, and I no doubt will say it again and again, but it goes to the core of my belief...
I think we are all born with a debt, to those who come after us, to leave this place a little better than we found it.
I could wax on at great length about this, but I won’t tonight. I’ll just raise a toast to those interactions that echo down through the generations and say to all of you...
“Thanks”.

Sounded like Cowboy was maybe a bit... um... buzzed??
(giggle giggle chortle chuckle)
I was thinking of a Red Bull with a double shot of espresso and powdered sugar, topped with Mountain Dew and a Jolt Cola chase?
(Shudders at the thought)
Sorry I was in and out, but I was dealing with some crummy charcoal and it went from not staying lit to running way hot... Shoulda stuck with Mesquite!
Gotta head out, it was fun, folks... Have an awesome night and a better tomorrow, 'K?
(Oh, tell Sput I'm sayin' a prayer for him and his gato if he stops back by, 'K2?...)
Hugs Y'all...

When I first discovered e-playa 2 years ago there seemed to be a lot of people writing about "NO EXPECTATIONS" in the save tone they talked about leave no trace. It is of course impossible to not have some expectations, but I found that trying to rid myself of them to help me keep an open wide eyed frame of mind. Letting the experience wash over me, and flowing with it.

I guess it depends on your expectations. I think anyone who expects things to be given to them needs and attitude adjustment. I expected to work hard, to play hard, to get dirty and to discover new things.Zulegoona wrote:but I found that trying to rid myself of them to help me keep an open wide eyed frame of mind. It's going to be alright.
