I don't know. Can't say I'm all too thrilled with the concept personally. It's sorta trite. There is a piece downtown already that is made from car bumpers and quarter panels. When it was on the University campus it was a popular place for the bums to step inside of and take a piss.
It's going to be alright.
I know what you mean,..
though it could work out to be something fantastic, if words could describe it there would be no need to make it.
I wonder if big splashy public art with associations to burning man will advertise burning man and put it under greater scrutiny and expand the event massively for 06

It possible. Who would have guessed 10 years ago that it would be as big as it is today. Yet, 40,000 people is still less than 1,000 from each state, on average. Lots of room there for growth. There must be many more people in each state who would fit in, but have yet to discover it. And, of course, there will always be those who drift away.
Another drink?

I don't think the infrastructure could support a gathering that was as big as something like Sturgis.
the recent jack Rabbit seemed to hint that the organizations focus might be turning to the regionals and away from the Black Rock event some time in the near future.... well that's how it seemed to me anyway.

Yeah, I've heard that too. Quite honestly I think that would be the death of the org, which some people would love to see. They would be spread thin trying to coordinate actions of disparate groups across the country. If there is a concern the event is too big, then limit ticket sales.
It's going to be alright.

*M wanders in........the Bar is silent. She puts some Kona into the coffee machine and turns it on. Sits around for a while waiting for it to brew. Takes a dry erase pen and writes a message on the board behind the Bar....."Hello, my friends! I hope you are all doing well and having a Great weekend!"
Gets sidetracked by an email from a friend to go deliver him some dirt for his garden. Mumbles something about returning later and heads out the door.*

All nighters... good Lord, I remember plenty of those. I used to both loath and love them in some strange way. Maybe I loved them because they were something different than the normal day-to-day. Maybe I loved them because they made me feel like I was the one that they depended on. Maybe I loved to loath the fact that they never really told me “thanks” for all the ones I pulled. Dunno... but either way, I’m right there with you sputnik... even if only in spirit.
Keep a pot of coffee or tea on and if the mind gets blurred, get up and walk around. Go outside and breath deep. Feel the life in your lungs. Then get back to work and feel productive... feel validated... feel like the underappreciated man-behind-the-scenes that you are.
(Raises a glass to sputnik's all night, hard-workin’, bringin’ home the bacon attitude.)
You rock!!!

I bet they’re having fun. It’s beautiful and clear here. Don’t know about up yonder. My burner amigo is heading that way next week (he’s from that neck of the woods originally). Perhaps you guys could hook up if you’ve not much to do. PM me and I’ll provide info if you want.
It sure was a fun when I was there, but certainly short, wasn’t’ it? Barley John’s was quite nice though.
