promotional opportunities

Post by The Count » Thu Apr 21, 2005 10:21 am

Now that the mind-control elements in the 99.9 FM audio stream have made converts of the unruly Apokiliptika faction, we're ready to expand our playa domination.

Join willingly and retain a shred of control over your destiny, or you will be assimilated and completely at our mercy.

Submit promotional material for your camp! Written, recorded, it matters not. Those who do not, risk having something created FOR them without review of or reprieve from any creative license that may be taken in the process.

What is the public attraction of your camp? Are you offering some particular service? Some landmark that distinguishes your camp? (once space is allocated, of course, we can plug in your BRC address)

Everyone traditionally waits till the last minute and our production staff will unlikely to be able to handle the rush. Those who submit early will benefit from the most careful attention.

PM me for details of audio file submission.

Questions?

Do it! Price of failure is to risk having it done for you.

Hello!? <echo>

I'm not in the habit of having to plead with people to let me do something for them that they'll be be begging me for in a few short weeks.

I tried to be very general with my direction to allow the greatest room for creative interpretation.

Do I need to dumb it down? ....Like post a form you can fill out or something?

You've been warned.

Speak up or I'll play the Hokey Pokey until you submit!!

For those of us radical independents who build our camps in what are considered neighborhood areas, we never know if we will be early enough to get the space we had last year. Hell, we are still getting our concept together.

And you want us to do what already?

Rage, how about a simple " Hey we are us " sort of thing, maybe some human interest discussion about working out your concept and the logistics you have to deal with. Use it as a motivator to settle on a name for your Bar or what ever, when people wander by and see your name they light bulb will go off (ping) Oh yeah those guys (ping)

course who knows what will get aired,.....

Zool, ya had me eating out of your hand till you said THAT.

Jeez, can't GIVE it away without making people wonder what's the catch. If ya only knew how badly some of us need to be loved, but what crazy lengths we go to to hide it sometimes.

But save for that small error in judgement you have it exactly right. Name recognition is key. Statement of purpose. Define intended audience. You tell all of that before you know where you'll live.
Saying your name and shout "we are fucking HERE!" works. Let 'em hear the love in your voice.

But if you wait too long, you'll have to stand in line with all the other riff-raff. This radio station is a gift -- and one doesn't question what people do with a gift -- and I intend to give a piece to everyone who has the nads to stand up and take one. Heaven help us all!

That means that there's going to be a share of ignorant assholes playing megaphone--that'll be a big surprise, won't it? In America, even ignorant assholes have a right to speak their piece--although many of America's fat cats are doing their best to get us to forget that. (uh, sorry, this wasn't supposed to be a political announcement)

I'm hoping that by giving some of the thoughtful BM people a head start however, I can help give the voice of love and reason a fighting chance. (even if it has to make its appearance in disguise) Otherwise all you're going to have to listen to is a whole bunch of, "Woo hoo! Show us your tits!" "Radical expression" at it's finest! <sigh>

There's going to be a few clowns, a few of them might be genuinely funny, but what I'm really kinda hoping is that there will also be a few people who will have some feeling behind their words, and are sincere in what they choose to say.

That's as close as I'm likely to ever get to revealing the heart I wear on my sleeve. Don't doubt me again!! I'll fukkin BLEED on ya.

K?

Now who wants a chance to be on the freakin radio?

Some how I expect by midweek the station will have been taken over by a revolutionary action group that took issue with someone's ranting about the evils of some other group. Then another group will take issue with the ranting of the revolutionary group and will storm and take over the station, and so on,..... Oh I get it 99.9 is part of Kamp Apokiliptica it's all part of the pl..... never mind.

Be you one of those "experienced optimists" one hears talk about?

No harm in a little mellow-drama, is there?

However, it should be known that regardless of whomever has "control" of the station at any given time, the core content will not (CANnot) change. There is a robust plan. (therein lies the advantage of advance submission -- to be part of the "core.") Different drapes, same windows. Need I spell it out any further? Don't make me spoil the fun.

Not to worry, we will treat your info well. Really!

SUBMIT!

OK I'll bite. After last years"Who,What,Where"disaster(guide listed our events but somehow missed listing our location)I would appreciate this opportunity for publicity.Do we email the info to you?
BTW I wouldn't feel too bad about the citizens ignoring your generous offer.I posted an offering of a free ticket, with a couple of small considerations, and not one person responded to it.What can you say?

Oh just wait. While some of us are planning, it's still "early" and "undecided" for a lot of people yet...last year we didn't decide to go until the week-of, haha. What a pain in the ass that was.

Still here, still waiting. The microphone is open, come stand in front of it and do your thing. The public-access broadcast bullhorn is at your service.

For those who are technically or vocally challenged, you may provide a script and we'll produce it with our shiniest plastic voice.

You may also wait till you get there, but then you will also likely wait in line.

Thank you Rage,

We will make you famous beyond your wildest dreams.

Anyone else?

Just a reminder that production facilities and administrative time will be in high demand and short supply on the playa. Scant effort NOW reaps massive returns later.

Could you plug the Parade of Domes 2005 for me? I could use some participants from beyond the Hushville neighborhood that have interesting structures....P.O.D. starts at The Snowman in Hushville, 10AM Wednesday the 31st., and meanders from there to wherever whoever else participating happens to be. Or just ride the Playa Luge and take the view from the (as far as I know) only triple-decker dome in BRC.

Shady Asylum. A familial collection of shady characters return to BRC for their fifth year and offer Shady Tower as a public gift. You'll spot her on the playa, she's a pyramid 60' on a side and 24' tall made of steel, wire, and agricultural shade material. Take off your shoes, come inside, and lay around on the 1600 square feet of live grass making up Shady Tower's floor. At any given moment there may be workshops, snuggling, weddings, sleeping, or any other kind of community taking place here. And in the center, rising from the grass, is a 15' tall triangular tower, eight feet on a side. At it's top you'll find a platform, also floored with live grass, from which you can gaze out onto the playa, sit and watch the human art happening below you, or contemplate psyche, your own or others'.

If you'd like to schedule your wedding, teaching, event, or otherwise within Shady Tower's delectable space, drop me a line. If you just need an asylum from the heat and the dust, drop your weary bones on the grass. You'll feel better for it.

Ron, who can take a hint from time to time....;)

Zaphod Burns has completed construction of and will feature the StarCastle and Infinite Improbability Root Beer Saloon, offering an elevated viewing platform and ice-cold root beer to participants. We will have live music and thematic art.

Show up in the morning wearing your favorite bathrobe and have a cup of tea with us. If you bring your own cup, we promise not to bulldoze your house!

Complete the circle of interactive psyche art, then chat up one of our bartender hotties and we will gift you with a towel featuring the hand-applied Zaphod MMV logo.

Zaphod is one of a small handful of camps who have completed the Leave No Trace Tour application process and will be displaying our Fizzicle Plant art exhibit/power source.
