I can see fire as art. What bothers me is fire as a way to get rid of stuff.
One man's trash is another man's art.

Can't believe someone hasn't jumped on this as another 'what is art' thread.

Such as rugs, carpeting, couches, plastic, ETC These are all toxic materials when burnt. Does people not care about there air quality we breath. Do people like to look up in the sky and see black smoke coming from the carpeting that was just put on the fire pit. I just don't get it. ,,,
It is strange behavior given the implied reasons for all the other rules. Perhaps they are the possibly "hidden agenda - evil burners" doing this. But a burn is a burn. If a burn is hot enough even the toxins can be broken down into smaller harmless compounds. Unfortunately humans do not have the technology or know how to usually burn at the appropriate temperatures.

Art is when I wear one of my outfits this year and you:

1) break into tears at the sheer beauty of it
2) ask me to make you one just like it and I laugh as I pour my warm margarita on your head (as you lay prostate in homage to my beauty)
3) Larry(TM) walks by and the photographers continue photographing me.
4) Marian drives by in a golf cart and, not paying attention, unintentinally runs over five dreadlocked ravers painting each other with henna, blows me a me a kiss and gives me the 'OK' sign.
5) Bob Stahl asks if I want a hit off of his flask and doesn't worry that i'll get lipstick on it.

Yeah the incinerators that reach this are walled and probably gas fired. That's why burning medical waste (which includes plastic) is so expensive...
