Interesting. Probably someone bought the tickets and got the reservation then decided not to go. Curious to see if it'll sell...poo_urchin wrote:these guys are selling a bm "package " on ebay!!!

This part is funny: "RV rental contract will be switched to Buyer's name and Seller will not be held liable for the rest of the amount due to Sierra RV nor will Seller be entitled to deposit refunds." In other words, this will cost more than you think.
It's what you make it.

I looked at the seller and noted that he has only sold one other item on Ebay. Aretha Franklin concert tickets. I then called Sierra RV and checked price and availability on a 29' coach. The tickets are being sold at face value. The coach rents for approx $3400. To that they add numerous other fees and deposits. Some of the deposits MAY come back. I am guessing he has also paid for extra genny hours @ $3 / hour. He no doubt left a deposit some time ago as they have been sold out for months. If the seller gets his price, his net gain won't exceed $300, if that. It really appears that he is just having to get out for what ever reason. If you want a motorhome AND need tickets, especially if you were to fly into Reno, it really isn't a bad deal. He certainly isn't going to retire on this sale.
Those who think they can and those who think they can't are both right.
That's why I don't think it is a bad thing. He is just about breaking even and that's it. Even if he made $300 on the deal, that's like 5% or 7% return on investment, which is horrible considering the amount of time the Rental place is holding his money.Dustdevil wrote:I looked at the seller and noted that he has only sold one other item on Ebay. Ha! The seller is here somewhere in my area of the state...23 hours to go and no takers yet. Actually as noted it appears he/she is merely trying to transfer a reservation to someone else who could make use of it at-cost (no need to be mad about that). What kind of cancellation fee does the RV place have? It might be better to sell the tickets seperately here on eplaya and cancel the RV than pay Ebay's listing fees.
Edit...the auction is for the tickets and transfer of RV rental, no matter how high bidding goes total paid to the seller is the same: $2300. Heh...that could be troublesome for the seller as I think Ebay fees are based on the final sale price, so theoretically bidding could end at say 1.5mil (buyer would still just be paying the seller $2300) but the Fees!! OMG!!
darn spelling!!!

Posted: Sat Jul 02, 2005 7:37 pm Post subject: HAVE 4 TICKETS AND AN RV I NEED TO UNLOAD!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So my boss decided after last year that he'd be going again this year and rented an RV right away and bought tickets pretty quickly- managed to snag them for $200 each. Only now, he suddenly can't go and neither can the people he was going with. So he's put me in charge of finding him someone to take over the RV rental and sell the tickets too!
I have:
4 tickets @ $200 each
7 day rental of 29' RV- email for specific terms
He's not looking to make any money off of it, just to get someone else to take it over for him. Please email me at [email protected] if you're interested!

It appears that we nailed this one. I see nothing wrong with that. BTW many RV rental companies make YOU find another renter, or you eat the deposit.
