if it wasn't for the United States, you might be speaking German right now.
I find it hard to believe that the germans could have staged a successful invasion of North America. Also, German was supposed to have been a co-national language w/ english, back in the revoluitionary times.

Fishie!!

Is there a porter around anywhere that you could perhaps slide my way? I’ll be over here in the corner for a while... in a daze and not very responsive. But I plan on regaining consciousness from time to time.

Then again, we'd have better beer now. The best of the wurst. And polkafests with live accordian bands. And tubas. Even Lederhosen's not too bad (tho it makes guys look kinda silly usually...)

And for the most part, our great-grand and grandparents forced our parents to speak English rather than that "old-world" tounge. Kinda sad, as a lot of dialects are being lost for that.

Anyway... Speaking of beer... May I?

Jägermeister is German, and I don't care, I'll have one.

Heya Sputnik!!! LTNS!!

Pretty decent. One of the bosses (the one who was a jerk) has backed off... maybe because my *real* boss is back. >grins< Had a 5.5 day weekend (can't knock those), starting to get some OT to use against my time off for late August (tho it's graveyard shift - yuckie!!) and a work weekend for the ESD communications people this weekend as well... I figure it's practice for sleep deprivation!! >>giggles<<

Sorry 'bout that - Jaegarmeister and Goldschlager get me thinking in German. My HS German teacher warned me about that. Damn!

Maybe I better switch to Guinness...

I'm literally counting the weekends left and wondering how we're going to do it. This crew needs to get together for more than 4 hours on a weekend if they want to finish these windmills. We've got one almost done, and I admit there have been some issues associated with scaling these things up to full size, so it's taken a bit longer. But, we miss the weekend of the 16th because of the fundraiser event we're having, so that leaves precious little time. I'm afraid there will be an august death march to finish this up.

More beer for me.

The first one will take longer than the rest, " one would hope " you'll learn a lot that will make the rest go together faster.
