Map - street and block widths

Post by Fishmonger Dave » Wed Jul 06, 2005 3:22 pm

Ok, looking at the final vs. preliminary maps for this year, and also at previous years' maps, it seems like the number of circumferencial (sp?) streets changes pretty often; hard to say whether the overall thickness of the "C" does as well.

Last year it seemed that the outermore rings/blocks were about 175' wide/thick, with 25' streets rounding it up to 200' gross. I seem to recall that in '03 the net block width was 200'.

Can anybody authoritatively state what these numbers are for this year? It'd help me plan our (unreserved) camp layout, and I imagine that other folks would be similarly interested.

Fishmonger i had the same question and could only find this to help.

Check the PDF I'm assuming the numbers on the top right of the C are widths looks like 300 feet for the first inner ring and and 280 for the rest of the rings. Seems a bit wide but that the best i have to go on.

I got 300 total for the first block (esplanade)
200 for the next one,
and then 250 for the rest.

in the past, streets have been 30 feet wide, subtracted from the above numbers. I want to say the noted measurements are for the center of the ring roads, with 15 feet subtracted from either side to define the "blocks" for camping/theme camps.

But I seem to remember some announced change this year, but can't track it down. Some streets were to grow to 50 feet wide

anybody know what the deal is?
