LED light help

looking for any info on what LEDs to buy and also about making sequencers for them to create a strobe effect. i am interested in real small, but bright LEDs.

But there are HUNDREDS. If you want to go el-cheapo, hit the thrift stores and look for electronics in baby toys and learning toys. They often have sequencing light displays, and can be used as is or modified to accept LEDs if they don't already have 'em. And they're fun to tear apart. The best way to figure out wiring and lighting is to jump in and PLAY. Go to Rodeo Snack and buy the three-dollar LED assortment and some 'gator clips. Once you do some research you'll find out about resistors and series-versus-parallel and all kinds of useful stuff...there are many discussions and bountiful links regarding such things on the 'ol Eplaya.

It's limited, but works OK and has 10 channels. I run it off 12 volt deep cell batteries and you can gang 3 or 4 LED's in series off each channel plus the red ones already on the circuit board. That's up to 50 sequenced LED's for around $50. Just add battery. Good luck!
