Howdy to all

Post by HavokTyme » Thu Jul 14, 2005 9:48 pm

Well, I'm new here & I'm going to be making my first jorney to the playa this year, I'll probably be going solo , not with a camp or anything--is it better to hook up with a theme group, or can you have just as much fun going up solo?

Depends on your tolerance for others. While going solo isn't as much fun as going with a group, it will still be fun and you'll still meet people. That said, if I were you, I'd try to connect with fellow burners in your area to find out if you have any common interests and might be compatible as far as camping together. As evidenced by the board, there are many people who welcome strangers into their camp. If all else fails, I believe you can go camp at the Hostel.

Welcome Havok!

If you do end up going alone, soon after setting up your camp venture over to introduce yourselft to your neighbors. Some of my favorite campmates did that several years ago, and I can't imagine them not being part of our camp!
