My gift to you? I will accept things of value!

Post by blyslv » Fri Jul 15, 2005 9:10 am

Hello,

I know you don't know me, and that's OK, because I don't know you. Due to my passive nature and inability to plan, I find myself in need of Things of Value, with only a few weeks before The Man Burns. I've decided that my gift to the community, to my Family, will be to make people feel good about themselves when they give me Things of Value. I also have some great ideas about radical self expression and am pretty sure that I can turn these ideas into a kick ass art project for you to consume on the playa. All I need are the Things of Value. It will be good karma for you and you can every now and then bust into a grin, thinking of all the wonder Things of Value you have given a stranger.

Just PM me and we'll arrange everything.

Thank you

I probably know at least one person who would be happy to give you an STD.

Edited to add that this is a joke and I do hope it is taken as one. Never can be sure anymore.

If an STD is a Thing of Value to you, then I commend you for your ability to spin straw into silver!

Cow manure has considerable value in some instances. So does Flaming gasoline. Be careful what you ask for...

I could let you borrow $5. Does that count?

I tried to think what I would call a Thing of Value with capitals.

Money, food, shelter, no. Anyone who can buy a ticket to BM can manage the camping side in a couple of weeks, I am certain. They could be valuable things, but they are not Things of Value.

I do not presume to call any art I make a Thing of Value, either. I am small-scale and mundane.

Unfortunately, you cannot have my husband, my cats, or my house mates. I would give you some of my piece of mind, if I could, but then again I don't have that much to spare and I don't know how to go about it.

Would you accept a copy of a book that has meant a lot to me? I could bring you one. Or in fact, I could bring a couple of copies on playa as gifts...

Duh. Thanks for the idea. Should have come buy it myself. :)

janka, I don't know if I can make You Feel Good About Your Self. It seems like you have a good start. However, some salt cod and the perfect telemark turn might be a good beginning.

Believe me, you don't want my telemark turns. They are definitely not of value. :D

I will see your Thing Of Value and raise you a Veritable Fortune. Giving a Veritable Fortune is a thing most admirable and people would be the envy of the community for it. While you may feel a slight glow, maybe a little tingle at the though of gifting a Thing Of Value, image the lifetime of pleasure you would get out of gifting me a Veritable Fortune.

Oh, and please do drop by my religious education center. I am taking applications for diciples. It's easy. First you much become a priest. That is also easy. Since money is the root of all evil, you must promise to remit all income to me for a period of one year. Since you will be without money, you will also be without sin. I will bear those nasty sins for you. In fact, I will take all your booze and loose woman friends too, if you have them. At the end of the one year "cleansing period" I will make note of the 12 most worthy to become my permanent diciples.

Those gifting Veritable Fortunes are guaranteed consideration for an Archbishop position. So go out there and give till it hurts, and then give much much more ... to ME ... your savior and sinner by most holy proxy.

Geekster,
I'd be your disciple, but I've already spent all my money on the damned garden art-car...

I guess I'll have to worship you from afar.
How expensive would that be?
