Camp Signage

Considering the windsail factor, does anyone have suggestions for signage of large banners? Does cutting slits in signs work? is there a netting like material that one can get printed?

If you stay with WIDE LOAD camp, you can find readymade wind-resistant mesh banners at most truck stops.

Seriously, you can use Krylon Fusion paint (made for outdoor plastics) to cover truck mesh (or wideload signs) and then create your masterpiece. I've tested Fusion for MOOP factor, and it comes back negative in full sun and pounding rain for several months.

Thank you!

More suggestions:

-bird/deer netting, with letters sewn on....VERY wind-transparent.
-plastic snow fence.....ditto.
-plastic screen-door material. (Shouldn't fray on the edges, but test it.)
-Fabric with slits cut, and then zigzagged on a sewing machine...Be sure to run across the ends of the slits multiple passes, to discourage tearing. You could also use GOOP adhesive for this. Come to think of it, you could GOOP your letters on instead of sewing OR painting! Spell your camp name with plastic dinosaurs! (or whatever else!)

See

for custom t-shirts, posters, and such -- you can get your logo on the item of your choice.

That's cool! I'd wear a shirt with that on it!
I had a teacher in high school call me a walking billboard because I had so many different t-shirts!

Could be a little spendy but I've seen shadecloth with EL wire lettering used as a camp banner.

I recently saw a fantastic-looking yard sale sign that had been improvised with Great Stuff expandable foam sealant and flouro paint....Looked like lava letters! You'd just have to make sure that the letters were well anchored, to lower the MOOP potential.
