We have engineered a Burning Man model called a THEME CULT. It's an experiment in viral participation. Think of it as a de-centralized, open source, guerilla theme paradigm, or "the kind of thing they did in Fight Club."

LOVE ARMY is the first Theme Cult. Our objective is to spread love at Burning Man '05 by any means necessary. We'll be wearing pink, green, hearts and camouflage. We'll go on inventive, self-directed missions like: graffiti squads, love song sing-along, lipstick kissing ambush.

Love Army Theme Cult should be especially awesome for: wide-eyed 1st timers; folks involved with other projects (volunteers, artists) who still like to dress up and cause chaos; vets who want to participate in a theme without the commitment of a camp. The idea is to get a large network of people participating in the same theme, but on their own terms.

We have no idea how this will turn out.

Badger, we'll be graffitti-ing mostly expensive looking personal property, and of course the porta-potties, 'cause everybody knows that's how you get the message out down at the burn.

count me in! i've been getting all my army print costume stuff ready for kamp apokaliptika, and another costume (all pink) for my clown whore persona, so this just seems natural to combine the two.
as you can tell from my profile i'm fascinated with military and spies and stuff like that, but even double agents have love to give.

Love Army Soldiers:

Our recruitment *drive* has been outstanding. I'm proud to see so many willing to stand up/lie down for what they believe in. However, this communique is to clear up a misconception no doubt spread by propagandists (I'm looking at you UN Peacekeepers).

We've had several requests to camp with us. However, we have no camp as that would make us vunerable. We exist only in the dark, damp, fragrant corners where Love flourishes. We know this is a change in thinking, but revolution never travels in a straight line.
