Does anyone know how I might come by a flight with one of the many pilots on the playa? I'm making a documentary on the dicky box project: http://www.thedickybox.com and I'd like to get some shots from the air of the box sitting solitary amidst the chaos.

you can always hang out at the airport and ask.

Hanging out at the airport and asking is the best way. Keep in mind that airplanes are strictly forbidden from flying over the event, so it will be hard to get a decent aerial photo of a small object on the ground.
