Looking for a Theme Camp to Join

Post by yzf600la » Sun Jul 31, 2005 9:15 am

Hello Burners,

This is my second year and I am looking for a Adult and or Fun theme camp to join and have a happy burn.

Last year I camped with my friends a the Cat Headers camp. I am not sure whether they are camping this year.

I will be driving from LA with my Van and a popup trailer and my bicycle. I am very easy going, can help out in setting things up and have room to carry stuff for the theme camp.

I can also provide a ride to somebody interesting and who is willing to share gas and expenses from LA to BM and back. I plan to leave Aug 29th and have to be back by Sept 5, 2005.

Please let me know as soon as possible. :D

I can't help with the first poster's needs but I'm looking for a camp to join too. All I need is space to park my small car and put up a tent right beside it. And I have a quiet Honda EU-2000i generator that I can let people tap into. I may need help with some fuel for it if it's run beyond my needs though. I aggressively practice LNT, I try to stay quiet but help out as needed and would like to find a good home this year. I've stayed in Kidsville the past two years and I have several people who can vouch for how I'm quiet and clean up after things. Please post here or PM me if anyone has suggestions or offers. Thanks!

We have room left at Vortex Casino and Carn'Evil Adventure. Visit our site at www.haven2006.com if your interested. We are an adult interactive camp with a VERY unique theme.

Camp dues are $50.00 to help with Props, special FX, Genny Fuel, etc.

Let me know. Mosy everyone will be on the Playa by the 27th to help build, but we'll also have a few late arrivals.

We're located right on the Esplanade at 3:30 and are highly interactive. Let me know...

Kinetic IV,
If you haven't found a camp yet, we still have a little room left. Check out our camp, the LAFers.

Email me or PM, either works. We don't have dues, and are pretty laid back, great folks. Be as interactive as you wish. It's all good.

The Guns and Dope Party is still open, but you'd have to be pretty tolerant to join up. www.gunsanddope.com if you're interested.

why not just camp in open camping?

Why would someone with such noteriety be in a pinch finding a camp at the last minute?

what's wrong with pulling in, pitching up, and heading out?

Notoriety? Me? Nah, you must be thinking of someone else. Hardly anyone notices me. Badger has more notoriety on here than I'll ever have.

You're right I could stay in open camping. But I want to be around people, I really enjoy helping others and volunteering so the more opportunities I have to do so the better. And I think I may have found a good place to go...a former Midwesterner made a really tempting offer I'm mulling over. It would give me exposure to how a larger theme camp works, the ins and outs of how large scale art is handled on the playa, and more.

I've got a full plate so I haven't committed to anything yet, but I appreciate the offers I've received.

Hey K4 I suggest you give Badger a PM. I know for a fact that he/she would love to share his/her camp with you.

Now that's funny. That man wouldn't even spit in my general direction. He hates me, the ground I walk on, heck anything in my general vicinity. I will always be "coma boy" to him anyway....But thank you Cabanasprings for the suggestion. I needed a good laugh.

Invaluable experience, IMO. Trying to put together a SMALL camp and wondering what I'm forgetting. I'm sure I'll be learning a lot this year...

Start with a decent packing list Dallas. It'll only get better afterwards. E-mail me and I'll pass mine on.

So. I have other reasons too, there's no need to go in depth with you about them. You would be bored with it anyway.

I think there is still room in the AEZ www.ae-zone.org, no generators, nice quite camp. Good location and you exact spot on the playa is marked out and ready for you when you arrive, unless you come early then you can help mark out the camp. Jolly Roger is or was, I believe, a city planner so he has the whole thing marked out and surveyed before the burn even starts. We have been there every year and could not imagine camping anywhere else. Next to Hushville, kinda bohemian, a really great retreat from the harsh and sometimes loud playa lifestyle.

join our camp!

Post by Mind Scan » Mon Aug 08, 2005 2:04 pm

Due to several people dropping out we have space at The Therapeutic Mind Scan, Catharsis and 5:30. In fact we need someone to show up on Tuesday or Wednesday morning to insure our space is held as we're arriving in the afternoon.

The Mind Scan is an interactive video based installation where visitors sit at a 50's Sci-Fi movie set, hit a big red button, and watch their 'subsconcious' projected onto a screen. 'Doctors' will help guide visitors through the process, though it's so simple it can be self-running.

Please email me directly if you'd like to join us. [email protected]

Our camp has decided to join another so we no longer need participants. We'll now be near Ego and 4:00, come by and get scanned!
