I am wondering if other people are having issues with getting approvals (namely the lack of) from the DMV. I submitted one of our art car applications on 27-Jun-05 and it was approved on 16-Jul-05 and I submitted a second application on 6-Jun-05 but still have not heard back. The website says to contact [email protected], which I did on 31-Jul-05 to follow up on the status of my application - nothing.
My question is this - are other people having problems with getting responses back from [email protected] and have any of you submitted DMV approvals but not had them approved?

Volunteer:
Main Entry: 1vol·un·teer
Pronunciation: "vä-l&n-'tir
Function: noun
Etymology: obsolete French voluntaire (now volontaire), from voluntaire, adjective, voluntary, from Latin voluntarius
1 : a person who voluntarily undertakes or expresses a willingness to undertake a service: as a : one who enters into military service voluntarily b (1) : one who renders a service or takes part in a transaction while having no legal concern or interest (2) : one who receives a conveyance or transfer of property without giving valuable consideration
2 : a volunteer plant
3 capitalized [Volunteers of America] : a member of a quasi-military religious and philanthropic organization founded in 1896 by Commander and Mrs. Ballington Booth
I'm not trying to be a smart azz but the event wouldn't happen without volunteers. And just like last year the DMV volunteers have a bunch....no think bigger, no think even bigger stack of apps to go through and scrutinize. It takes time to do it. They will get to you, be patient, head over to the bar for a nice shot or PBR while you wait and they will get around to you.

During the final week before the system was closed to new applications the DMV received almost 400 apps. This puts a burden on the staff. If you submitted an application that included flame effects it must also go through the Performance Safety Team for FE approval. It all takes time. If your app was not complete, IE no drawings items left blank, it adds more time. The DMV staff is working overtime to get through these. They will get them done.
Those who think they can and those who think they can't are both right.
