The clarifications are most welcome, thank you Eric and the Astropups. A therapy dog? Imagine that. Anyway I just flagged 7:30 and Catharsis on my map of must visit camps.

The (mostly gay, but not completely) Village of Avalon Synapse Station breaks down as follows:Kinetic IV wrote:And to think I thought Jiffy Lube was all there was. But let me guess, all of the cool things like Astro Pups and the like cater to twinks? Or are these places open to bears, cubs and other affiliations?
the Astropups: primarily cubby guys.
the playa Faeries: Artsy bears, and cubs for the most part.
Vietnamese Iceed Coffee Camp (VICC) : All sorts of people, but predominately thinner late 20's early 30's gay boys.
Camp Stella: first year as a camp, the guys who run it are similar physically to those in VICC
Temple Of Poi: Not a gay camp, first year in Avalon.
Quixote's Cabaret: Europeans, some straight, mostly gay, really fun.
If you are coming this late in the game your best bet for joining any camp is Vietanemese Iceed Coffee Camp. They don't require a lot of work pre-playa (although you do have to do shifts making coffee for the masses which is tons of fun.) Or else you can contact those who run the Village of Avalon and ask if it's alright co camp in the Unaffilated Avalonians section of the Village. Check out their website here: http://www.noeboys.net/avalon/

I want to also add that Avalon is very full this year. We probablydon't have room for an additional RV. (but you never know, ask somebody in charge if you really want it.) But definately drop by to spend time with us, or camp near the village if you can't camp in it.MoisturePup wrote:The (mostly gay, but not completely) Village of Avalon Synapse Station breaks down as follows:Kinetic IV wrote:And to think I thought Jiffy Lube was all there was. Avalon Synapse Station
Keith,
First of all, welcome to Burning Man! You are going to have the time of your life. There is nothing in the world like it and you and your boyfriends are going to have a total blast!
I'm the coordinator for new people at the Avalon Synapse Station Village, and it's true that we are pretty much packed to capacity at this point, and definitely can't take another RV. However, since our village seems to be a gathering place for a lot of LGBT people, we are recommending that people feel free to camp in the vicinity of our village near 7:30 and Catharsis, and come be a part of our village even if you aren't camping in our mapped out area. There will be other groups doing this as well. For instance, we have another group, Camp Jungle Love (a group of like 20 gay men with an RV) who are camping across the street from us in the area where it is no longer scheduled for theme camps. They will be just across the street and are basically a part of our village even if they aren't camping in our mapped out area. So you are welcome to camp near us and be a part of our community just like they are. I think there will be a lot of queerness in the vicinity of 7:30 and Catharsis...
And speaking of queerness, all of Burning Man is pretty queer regardless of sexuality. It's pretty awesome how gay/straight/bi/lesbian/transgender/leather/hippie/freakyness/whatever blends into a human community at Burning Man where all those terms don't seem to mean so much. People are just together enjoying radical self expression.

Want to reiterate it. Tried to express something similier eariler on, but it really is sort of pan sexual in the best way. One reason why the dirty old h ippies lusting after sweet young things is extra creepy there.SFNathan wrote: And speaking of queerness, all of Burning Man is pretty queer regardless of sexuality.
