Hair Ball Speed Bumps.
REminder:Don't let the jack-rabbits bait you into swerving to miss then. If you hit the shoulder it's roll over time. Happens every year. Hit the little fucker, save your life and we can cook em.
I'm the contraptioneer your mother warned you about.

I also want to seriously point out that this is not the type of Jack Rabbit we are talking about. These rarely carry Tularmia.

Harley's point is a good one, and it's no joke. Most (all?) of highway 447 is open grazing territory. The topography is such that you often can't see what's over that gentle rolling hill until you are right on top of it. Don't out drive your headlights. Also be aware that in many parts of 447 the shoulder is:
1. Non existent
2. Made of soft, deep sand that will sink your car up to it's axels.
avoid stopping on the shoulder unless absolutely it's absolutely critical.
I'd also advise against driving 447 at night.

Open grazing / open range is right. ABS brakes are the only thing that kept me from buying a $500 almost crushed cow on 447 coming back from Reno in '02. Lesson learned, thankfully not the hard way.
Looking back I remember reading the messages about don't swerve, take the rabbits out. I've taken out 7 of 'em in 3 years time. It's like hmmm...take out the rabbit or risk damage to me and a $20K+ vehicle? Yeah, goodbye kamikaze bunny!
