Do you know that for sure? Has it been officially announced yet?
That's one hell of a theme... I love it.

land of dreams

Post by swampdog » Thu Dec 23, 2004 11:24 am

Funny you should mention that. I've always had a dream country that I go to, with recognizable landmarks and known locations. I could draw you a map of this country of dreams. Now more and more the playa is becoming the framework to this country. My dream country is becoming a subset of the playa-dream, pieces are fitting together in all new ways.

The only scary bit is that eplaya seems to be part of it too. People I've never met but whose names are well known here pop up. Dragonfly Jafe, I've never met you, I don't know a thing about you, what were you doing in my dream? It was like meeting a celebrity.

I've had many vivid dreams since Burning Man, but there's something else rather remarkable... Whenever the kids have the TV too loud, or the dog's barking, or there's some sort of noise in the house, I think of the playa, of lying there under the stars with the sounds of drums and laughter and music all around... and I immediately fall straight asleep. Thinking of Burning Man just relaxes me so much I don't have any trouble sleeping at all.

but brc is only a city, not a country or world. or does it expand in your dreams until it encompasses mountains, rivers, and valleys, etc.?

asking me?

Post by swampdog » Mon Dec 27, 2004 4:42 pm

was that question to me? I guess it's more a nexus, where you go to to get to anywhere. Or where you can get to from anywhere else. Or maybe, all the places that I used to go now seem like part of the playa.

yeah, yeah. i still think it's wonderful but haven't had the time or presence of mind to get further into it: mayan space travel. i heard that the ancient mayans ate fungus and dissolved, merged with a road of light that lead into the sun...which was (is?) a terminal with travel to anywhere else in the universe. wonder if these dreams are onto something.

for anyone else interested in this dream stuff, this year is a great one for dream work and discussion because as i've said in the past, the theme will be dreaming and the subconscious mind. :)

Had two vivd BM dreams. One involved a plethora of Egyptian-oriented sand-art, and the other was 'at BM', only BM was in the woods with cabins. Plus there was this lady in the dream who did some kind of demonic facial-distortion thing that scared me. Weird.

I dreamed last night I was going to BM. Lately, my dreams of BM are all in city, village or country landscapes, not on the playa.

This dream was in kind of a huge parking lot and the burn resembled a big flea market with camps set up in long rows in the parking stalls.

I was so happy to be there I began to run, stretched out my hands and quite naturallly took right off. Then I'm flying over the burn and practicing my windsurfing techniques so I could stay in the right area. I did alright for awhile until I got too high up and began get a little worried which woke me up.

BM DREAMS

Post by DokktorWho222 » Sat Aug 13, 2005 5:57 pm

Burning Man Dreams:

So i arrived at Burning Man and it looked like a series of connected rooms (like in Masque of the Red Death). I stopped in this one pretty elaborate room where this beautiful girl was just siting behind wooden desk/bar. I started talking to this guy who was walking around and asking him questions. He siad that the girl was doing brandings. So, after i asked her if she would do one for me she started drawing what looked like a horse skull on a piece of tracing paper. The guy said that for payment he would take some pens. He reached into a fishbowl that i was holding and took out several highlighters and pens. Then when i went to talk to the girl again her drawing had changed to circles attached by thin lines. She asked me if i liked the design. I said that i did and she told me to lean up against the bar. Another guy showed up to assist her and she heated a piece of wire. She siad somethign about it was going to smell funny since i had some hair on my back, and then pushed the wire into my flesh. That one didn;t hurt too much. Then she made a smaller circle and pushed that one in - that one hurt and i winced at the pain. After it was done, i looked in the mirror and thought that although it didn't look like what she had drawn, it still looked pretty cool. She gave me the paper that she had drawn on. I took it down some stairs into the "basement" and started drawing on it in color. I added some rainbow colors and some connecting lines along with some drops of color running (like water). I took the drawing back upstairs and showed it to her. She thought it was amazing and she and i both initialed it. She took the drawing, showed it to her assistant and then hung it on the wall of her place.

I find this of some signifigance because i usually don't dream in color. It's unusual for me to remember feeling an exact feeling of pain too.

burningman is far too vanilla for my dreams - the likes of which that would cause god to rethink the intention of it all.

Fishy was on a golf cart being a charming cheerleader along the entrance road, complete with megaphone. I remember you saying that I should set up my camp over on the edge of the football field or up on the hill. (Obviously, the topography is a little off in this one.) Anti M was regally holding court and dispensing yoda-like wisdom (except with a far better sense of humor), dressed up in a ball gown, tiara and wand like Glenda the Good Witch. There was a big glass punchbowl full of something.....

Funny, I recently acquired a big poofy pink tulle prom dress, much like the one Glinda wears. It fits larry though, not me. We're thinking "snack fairy" for him one afternoon. I have the tiara ready and was poking about looking for a star to make the wand this morning.

AH, synchronicity, how fun.

Definately up on the hill. That way you can pee on the JotS line.
