It was 10 months ago when word of APOKILIPTIKA first began to be spread. Now, with well over 11,000 visits to this thread, and only a little over two weeks before BM 05 begins, I think it is timely that I share with all of you the results of a wonderful bit of cyber art.

It all began 10 months ago, when a certain highly placed person lamented to me his concern that theme camps were too topical and not thematicly based- or to say, his wish that camps be more a sort of continual, and interactive performance... an acting out. Being in his exhaulted role, he could have related this to a wider audience, yet, he chose not to. That was when I concieved this interesting concept.

I am reminded of Salvador Dali, and his powerful sense of showmanship... and for his sense of the surreal. It is deeply subconscious... and harkens to our inner most fears, longings and curiosities. Taking this as inspriation after that conversation... I conceived my own project of the mind.

What if, you could create in the minds of the populace, a theme camp complete with everything, even people with personalities- distinct personalities, and create interaction? could you create something that becomes very real in people's minds? Yes, but it would take time and some help of course. The difficult attention to the smallest details of realism and authenticity were painstaking.

Could it be done? To my utter diabolical delight, it has. It HAS been done, and all of YOU have been the mice in the maze. Cheese anyone?

I have never known anyone to use the journey to BM in the minds of others-- so MANY others, quite in this way... so imagine my delight when the BM 2005 art theme became public- a perfect fit!

The plain and simple truth dear friends, is that illusion is art, art is illusion. Give them a good show said Barnum.

I am pissed. But then again, I am amazed. This is the best peice of performance art I have ever seen. For almost a year this person has led hundreds of people on a tail chasing, anticipatory experience that shoud go down in the record books. I admit I was takenn by this story. Words can be art. The ultimate in psychological experience.

When we first got together and discussed this diabolical project, I didn't think it had a snowballs chance of being pulled off (Yeah... Cynical I was!) but I am glad I "signed on" to this wonderful charade... and the more I got involved (amazing how caught up one can get) I realized it was just too good an opportunity to pass up.
