It's 10 feet x 70 inches and just a 3 3/4 inches high (it fits the pond liner I had laying around). The shower is a pallet that is built above the pond. If possible I'd like to move it off the pond and just have some plastic below to drain into the pond. I built a frame around the pallet to hold some material for a shower curtain as well as bathing supplies and the camp shower (everyone brings their own). For evap I have a sump pump that will pump the water up and the allow it to flow over a series of boards in a waterfall arrangement. I'm hoping it will look nice as well as be functional (at least when the gennie is running). We have about 30 people in camp, so I'm hoping for the best.

WOW! That's a big pond! So you are using a gennie to run the pump? That sounds cool.
I was thinking about having my shower in my dome but that kinda defeats the whole evap pond deal. Then I thought maybe it would help with cooling inside the dome if I hung a towel up as a wick and then set up my little battery box fan to blow on it. I am also going to try the water cleaning with bleach and bring one of those garden bug sprayers after to mist the road.

I'm here Sput, I've just been PM'ing and trying to find something online. I need camo nets like yesterday. Just figured out a shade structure, and all that I'll have to buy is netting.
Ahhhhh! So much to do.
Quick someone drink me. (wow that really sounds kind of dirty, but I'm not going to change it)

As a kid I used to change the filter pads on the evaporator cooler on the roof of his Laundromat. they where an excelsior like material in a mesh netting the water was pumped on to them from the top. you'd need something like an old afghan something absorbent but with a lot of holes for air to flow threw.

I had this other idea about evaporating water, it works in my head anyways.......over your evap pond, not right on it but above it about a foot or so, you put clear plastic over a frame(material of your choice)I'm thinking black plastic pipe because I have it laying around here. It needs to make a little tent, the sun beats down on it and it forms droplets up under the plastic, then the wind blows and it evaporates. Well, it sure sounded good! HAHAHAHA!!!!!
I think just having the open surface area for evaporation to take place would work better, with the cover you keep dust out but you also restrict the air flow. If you use black plastic it will get to dam near boiling hot and with near 0 humidity it should go pretty fast,... unless it rains a lot then all bets are off.

Well I was going to look at the FF in Brooklyn Park because I'm going to H.R. Harris fabric outlet as well.
Side note: Z, I called H.R. Harris and they have velcro for 1.99 a yard. So I'm going tomorrow to look and probably buy some.
I'll also probably look at Gander Mountain and a few other places before I'll sucumb to Walmart.
