We have every good intention to teach people some actual ceilidh dances, we all know what happens to good intentions but at the very least it will be a blast. Not literally you understand, unless of course those crazy Apokiliptika guys are planning something. If you can Moah come along early, we'll teach you up and set you lose on the unsuspecting late arrivals.
Just picked up a load of kilts (OK and some tartan skirts) from a local thrift store, they may need some playa modification with a pair of scissors and string though to make them fit. Still all tartan is good and we even have tartan sashes (thanks to Claire/ Aldebaran).
Music is in hand ,getting some decent tunes burned to MP3 and the invites are nearly done. Its gonna be close to wire on this one but then, isn't that the usual with all BM projects. Ah next year that mythical syaing where you imagine yourself better prepared, fully kitted out and sitting back with your feet up ticking the days from the calendar.

Hell I dont even know anymore, if either show up then I'll be happy.
Thanks Robotland where would the world be without Hawaiian robot dancing and someone to enlighten the rest of us heathens.
OK what do people think about bringing some artificial woad along (LOOK THAT UP!) or blue face paint as it is more commonly known, I know its going to be a bit <cringe> braveheart like, but damn its fun.
Check out the photo for some woad action that happened at the European regional event Nowhere. Its more infectious than a smurf with crabs.

My tent looked like I had definitely had sex with said crab infested smurf the next morning, my kilt will never be the same.

You are cordially invited to a a feckin kick ass ceilidh (pronounced kay-lay) this year on the playa. Like dancing? You'll love this. This is the old fashion grab a partner, swing them round, scream "yyyeeeeeeeooooooowwwww!", twirl your skirts affair.
There will be kilts, tartan, obscure scottish dances contrived to disorientate and if you are early enough some quality whisky. If anyone has any dances they would like to teach everyone get in touch or if you would like to help teach others then come along early and we will get you prepared.....well as prepared as the rest of us anyway.
Your invite is attached (all the details you'll need are on it) and I would love to see you there, bring some energy along, you'll certainly need it.

Dougal,
Are first time burners welcome? We're a little shy but looking forward to trying lots of new things. This sounds like a great time. And do we bring single or double malt?

pick me pick me !!
Men in kilts, especially bearded redheads in kilts, make me go all weak in the knees. Genetic throwback I suspect, keep the tribe pure. Volunteers?
I'm flying in and don't have room to pack a full kit, will a catholic schoolgirl kilt be o.k.? lol...I can't imagine an onplaya occasion where a catholic schoolgirl kilt isn't o.k.
Will happily stop by earlier in the week to be briefed on how assist with the dancing lessons...the one thing we Nova Scotians know how to do is Ceilidh.
Much love and a bow to my partner.

I've got a lovely red Fredericks wig down to my kilt that I plan to get all sweaty at the dance.... the wig that is... well, the kilt too. Just keep your hand out of my oven mitt sporan unless you are want to go for a stroll in the heather.

If calico cats are the best mousers, does that make calico haired men the best ...........never mind.
And MJM, you can't blame a girl for wanting to check out your sporran before deciding if wandering in the heather is worthwhile. (Sometimes they're not real you know. I was sure Ranger Piper had a pair of socks in his. No evidence, just my suspicions. Turned out to be his chanter. At least that's what he told me).
