coem on out to trego during the event and we can discuss both sides of the argument abotu whether Burning Man uts the lake bed.
Sorry asshat. I don't wrestle with pigs. I'm sure you're familiar with the analogy...

Seeing as you no doubt smell the sweet offal of media convergence on the event coupled with the (requesite) 'must have' anti-BM slant, I'm not surprised you choose this point to slither forth from beneath your damp little rock to issue your intellectually necrotic challenge.

Toss your baited little hook somewhere else Mr. Gump.

I've better things to sharpen my nails on than your fucktard ruminations on 'playa serpents' and 'wetland destruction.' Come back with a high school diploma and maybe you'll get to tango with the big boy. Until then I'm using your post as a viable alternative to the occasional sleeping pill.

You bore me.
Dear Badger,

I think you have a big, bad case of "internet balls". You know, that habit of growing brave and strong when there's a keyboard, screen, several dozen router hops and miles of fiber optic and copper cabling stand between you and your target/adversary.

Now then, I truly despise people with "internet balls". That said, I am meeting up with Metric on Thursday, Sept. 1st, approximately 8am on Guru Lane to take a look at the storm damage, check a couple of things out and perhaps strategize on what can be done to restore the area to something resembling it's previous 'state of art'. All the while, you are more than welcome to come over, introduce yourself to a real human, not a sock puppet, and talk about any of this you might want to. I'm not here to threaten you or 'call you out' or any other juvenile nonsense like that. You want a real person to vent at, one of the real people behind SBM? Here's your target, if you feel truly capable and up to it. You won't hurt my feelings or my sensibilities. Who knows, it might make for a good debate or a good show.

Anyway, *I* will be there on unrelated matters. This is your chance to vent what you want to vent in public, to someone's face.

Oh just shut up. Stop BM org is demonstrably not about environmental conditions in the black rock playa, it's about stopping BM for whatever petty reason these guys have.

On this thread: http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic. ... highlight= respecttheplanet starts talking about how BM's coordination with BLM and other government orgs is raising the bar and making it tougher for Burnin' Bush. If you were consistent in your concern for the playa, you'd want the bar raised for all parties, not raised for BM and lowered for BB. (oh, respecttheplanet disappears after a few posts to be replaced by obscurotron. Nice work there! It might fool my 9 year old daughter, but my 12 year old is on to you)

The biggest environmental threat to the playa is the coal fired plant proposal. Show me what action you're taking against them.

(btw, for newcomers, these guys pop up every year to try to sow doubt and discord amongst newbies. I got suckered into taking them semi-seriously and did some research about it last year, they're full of hot air. BM is by far the cleanest event of its size nationally and is raising the bar for other events. Stop BM org never post any direct answer to a direct question, so nobody here is taking them particularly seriously. Their leader, Rex Scates (Allanon2) developed his deep love and respect for the desert by racing Neons on the playa, altho he swears over and over that he's repented and now just wants to protect. But clearly he just wants to, well, stop BM. Like he says.)

That seems oddly appropro.

At the risk of yet another fish centered sh*t storm, I wanna say that the saddest thing about this group is that between the lot of them they have about as much social sence as 1 asperger's case.

Okay, it's the funniest thing about them as well. Badger with internet balls. Rest assured, Badger's ballsy in person and competent to boot.

God, you people are such thick headed idiots. I swear. *sigh* Anyway, your claims of "sock puppet" are once again (as usual) completely incorrect.

See if your 12 year old can figure out "Daddy thinks he knows everything but instead is just another internet asshat."

Have fun, children. Keep avoiding the issues. Keep your heads stuck into the sand.

If all you can really do is come up with some comments bashing the Dodge Neon, that's pretty pathetic. So, MissNev. "Rather than taking on such a huge event (Burning Man), why not start with a smaller, more intrusive group to target" - that's the same attitude that I've seen here time & time again. Here's what I see:

* "You are all wrong. We want proof! Proof! Link us to the proof!" Just because it's not in a little clicky link on the internet doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. We have *THOUSANDS* of pages from an FOIA request.
* "You're all just sock puppets." Again, completely incorrect, but if you people want to sit around and think otherwise, that's your perogative.
* "Why don't you go pick on some other event?" Nice way to try to divert attention out of your backyard instead of actually dealing with it. for the record, we have been paying attention to other events and are strongly opposed to the Sempra Energy power plant that's scheduled to be built near Gerlach. Fact remains, there are no other events that drag 40,000 people up there. So, MissNev, if there were any comparable events, we'd be looking into them as well. Your pithy little comments about Dodge Neons is about 5 years too late. Nice try, though.

That being said, have fun with your event. Clearly you are all such rugged desert warriors that know everything. *eyeroll*

There are fossils around the playa, right? And where there are large amounts of fossil deposits, there is often oil, right?

I'm just sayin'. Run a drill straight down the center of the Man, could be black gold, baby! SPLOOOOOOOGE!!! Gushing straight up into the air, showering down on everybody, turning the playa the color of ink...

...the BLM would love us 'cause Uncle Dubya would make them love us. Or, they could declare war on us except they'd miss and carpetbomb Empire.

There's a great big lakebed in south-central Nevada that the gummint has made a pretty big mess of, so perhaps these anti-Burn folks ought to go down to the Ranch and take issue with the REAL man.

Be brave. Be brave!

I'm outta here.

Off to the playa.

Allanon, don't hold your breath. I will extend an invitation to meet you at Thunderdome at any time. Only requirement is that you wear your mom's panties. It'll make for an interetsing part of the epic which'll no doubt be penned.

so yes I will take this to thunder dome if you are serious. I doubt you are. It woudl be fun. So thunder dome rules aply whoever wins is correct? aso if i win then yes BM damages the pliya and you agree to go to BLM and back me up. and if you win I will say they dotn daamge the pliya. Not very scientific but hey. whatever suits your fancy.

Hey Rex...it's me again. Your editor. I told you to run this shit by me, dude.

I'm very disappointed in you and slightly tossed on wine, so I'm too lazy to come up with anything funny to say to you. Instead, I'll just ask politely that you go to hell. You suck and you can't spell and you're obviously a mogoloid of some sort. Please kill yourself and take us all out of your misery.

wow i never been called a simpleton before. that is a new one.
and before you think SCA is for simpletons I would look into what it really is. In fact we have maybe 15K or more registerd combatents with full sets of amrour.

dark matetr of humanity. so that means i represent the majority of society? remebr dark matetr is what 5 times more common that visible matter? so my view points represents 80% of humanity. thanks for the ocmpliment.

If Rex does SCA on a regular basis, that would be an interesting match. Don't know about Badger though (never met him), but badgers can be mean and spirited (at least where I grew up). Of course, the elastic ropes you hang from changes things a bit.

Hey Rex, now that I think about it, what are you doing to help prevent a gigantic coal-burning power plant from invading the precious playa you protect so dilligently? What have you done to prevent a serious pollution problem from occuring?

...Other than not driving your Neon, I mean.

Oh that's easy for anyone to answer. Not a damn thing. It's Stop BurningMan. Protection of the pliya only comes up as it's a weapon they can employ to further their agenda. They have a more single track focus than the UP does running alongside Jungo Road. Single track all the way baby!

All they want is their dragstrip back, oops, I meant unsullied playa, oops, I meant unsullied pliya back to roll those screaming Neons on. Sorry....it's not going to happen. But I'll take my scooter out next to the trash fence, take the muffle out of the exhaust and do an out and back pass in your honor.

Are you kidding. They are actually going to be putting extra mercury in the air during the event in the hopes that the heavy metals kill us off so they can have the playa back for themselves. It's stopbmbyanymeansnessesary.org, after all.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Either way, beside the point.

Rex keeps returning to this board, as regular as clockwork, posting the same arguments time after time, even after they've been shot down time after time, in an obvious attempt to win through sheer persistence. And now we have him all but yelling "I double dog dare you", in a spirit of "the argument isn't over until I say its over, and don't you dare ignore me"

That's going to irritate almost anybody, and it doesn't merit a kind or gentle response. If you want Rex to get a friendlier response, how about if you get him to stop playing the broken record game?

Oil dripping, tire scarring, and noise polluting are some of the harmful effects to the pristine playa. Perhaps you can persuade these menaces just how harmful they are. After that, you can move up to the weekend campers who overtake the desert for selfish use. If you're successful with the smaller groups, you may gain the experience to take on the larger groups.
