This is an interesting one to watch. Yes, weather can change at any time, but it's fun to get an idea of what it might be like. Plus I'm getting excited, so I check it every day now. Maybe there are other freaks like me out there.

Hmm...Still haven't figured out the Clear Sky Clock though.[/i]

It's an astronomer's thing. Cloud cover = bad, transparency = good. Seeing refers to how much turbulance in the air causes things to waver and flicker.

That is a fantastic site. Great resource of information and probably the most accurate picture of what the big playa is like.

You should check out the time lapse video from the Modis Satellite archive. (visible 04-02-19 thru 05-02-25 6mb) Its a huge file, but gives you some idea of how water evaporates on the playa. The center stays wet for several months.

I just got this feeling that this is going to be the best year ever, Of course, I say that every year... And it doesn't hurt to be prepared.. Now did I bring enough Gin and Tonic? 0H, and don't forget the Limes, sorry I'm working on my packing list..!

Mixers are the key. Bring mixers (or cups) and you can get into almost any bar in the city.

That would be new for me. I can stay out there longer if needed. Maybe that s why I throw the trenching tool in and the come along, tow chain too.
