Do I need to protect my battery, inverter, and charger?
I got a deep cycle battery, an inverter and a battery charger (tested them today and they actually run what I need to run). The inverter is fan-cooled so I'm wondering if I need some kind of enclosure for it and the other stuff. Thoughts?

I'm putting mine on top of a small rack in a plastic tote, just to try to keep dust from bunging up the air flow and coating the components. I should vent it but probably won't...

For the last couple of years, Louise and I have kept our battery/inverter in a big trash bag with a multi-outlet strip locked in the van. When we need to charge something, we pull the bag down so that the battery and inverter can breathe, vent, whatever and charge the battery in the van, then cover the gear in the trash bag again. It's a cargo van that's white, and it's not hot inside (we cover the windows with foil).
