In the pit of your stomach. Mine is telling me a couple of things. You forgot something important, your shade structure will fail, your car will blow up on the way to BRC, your ticket will somehow spontainiously combust just minutes from a greeter. ACK! No matter how many times i go over everything it just stays there, 1 week 0hours 12 minutes and 37 seconds cant come quick enough.

Hi, bdeywoo,

I've been there. I've forgotten key stuff a couple of times, and one year our shade structure fell down with every stiff wind, and we'd find it on the ground when we got back or have to stand there holding it if we were there when it blew.

Y'know what? Nothing was all that bad. People gave me stuff to fill in what I forgot, people offered to help with our shade (and we did it better the next year). It's Burning Man. Almost all the people who go are self-selected to be helpful, wonderful friends on the playa.

Relax. Enjoy. Repeat.

Make a checklist. Simple but effective. Start it a couple weeks ago and keep adding to it. Make categories; camping gear, food, costumes, etc.

What makes me uneasy is all this talk of rain!

like i got a umbrella that i was kinda planin on shoveling into the ground even though its really a short one... whats a good idea for shade?? Is it reasonable to bum around from spot to spot seein as ill not be at my tent all day anyways..

Just so you know, because I see it confused all the time:

The first people you meet just outside of the city are NOT greeters. They are the gate staff. The greeters are further down the road and will be much happier to see you. The gate staff is there to take your tickets, search for stowaways and send you on your merry way.
