Best wishes to Z and Blue.

Damn tough time Hagey is having at the Hostel. I hope this isn't some foreshadowing for the event.

I have a bottle of Merlot from South Africa tonight. Anyone want some?

Here is a case of Corona's from the bartender Miguel and a huge basket of fish tacos from the taqueria down the street. Ahhhh, Mexico.

You know Heli...I used to like you.

<glares>

This has not been a good start to this event. I'm beginning to think maybe you should take that case of Corona and shove off.

So it's a '90 e-150 last year I put a new radiator in it, on the way home from the event the transition went out and I got to spend the better part of a week in Grand Island Nebraska while it was being rebuilt.

This year it had set for a few months and when I went to start it I couldn't get it going even with a jump. So I put a new battery in it and it started and took it to a garage. they replaced the water pump a dash switch the serpentine belt and some other stuff and cheeked every thing over. Not cheep!

I finally get most of my prep done or decided to finish things on the playa. I was running late because I had a new windshield put in. I make it to the off ramp to Blues and the thing staled at the stop at the top of the ramp. It seemed as though there was an electrical problem because it wouldn't turn over with enough gusto to start it. a good Samaritan tried to jump it, to no avail, he them towed my rig van and camper to a safer place, and gave me a ride to Blue's. he gave me a Jehovah's witness " Watchtower as I got out of his suv. got to respect a guy who lives his faith, so I brought it home with me.

I got a ride back to the van to meet Blue's dad to see if he could figure any thing out, he's a big truck mechanic. before he got there I had to try it and it started up like there had never been a problem, he recommended a garage and I drove it there no problem. the mechanic will cheek it out first thing tomorrow , he seemed to think it wouldn't be anything to major,..... We'll see.

I've had a stalling problem on my relatively new saturn. Sometimes (rarely actually) when I pull up to a stopsign or traffic light the engine dies. If I wait a moment it starts back up again. Typically I can drive a few thousand miles or more between this happening. Maybe you're having a similar problem. Anyway, better to wait a bit and have it checked then have a problem develop in the middle of Wyoming.

It is messing with me and it's dam frustrating. At least it didn't happen in the middle of Wyoming, or on some mountain pass. Geee I feel so lucky it could have been so much worst.

Yes...FINALLY it's done! 3 straight days of working on it and we finished it at about 5 tonight. We put up the cover, it workied great, we took it down, folded it and packed it. Then we took down the frame and packed it, too.

Someone around here is setting off M80's and scaring the dog...not to mention me!

Yeah, good advice Sputnik.
Hope it's something easy to fix, Z.

I'm outta here for the night. I was hoping for word from the convoy, but I guess they are on the playa by now. They were in SLC this morning and were going to grab a nap and then head out. It's just after 8pm on the playa, so they must be there by now.
