keeping frozen things frozen

Post by melissananda » Thu Aug 25, 2005 9:45 pm

So, i'm packing a cooler with frozen water bottles, frozen juice bottles, frozen smoothies, frozen cooked dinners in bags... does anyone have any experience with the best way for everything to stay frozen? Will everything keep itself frozen? Should I also use ice packs? Any tips would be very appreciated. Smile! We're going to Burning Man!!!

Use dry ice, wrap your cooler in a sleeping bag, keep the cooler off the ground... There's a rather good sticky thread covering all of this.

I found some of this stuff at building C at the Calif. State Fair going on in Sacramento, now. Middle aisle, near the center.

It's pretty neat stuff. Quited sheets of plastic with polymer beads that swell when soaked in water. Freeze it and it has a better melt profile than regular ice. Stuff stays colder longer.
