Post by kilngod » Thu Sep 08, 2005 5:27 pm

Superego maimed beyond repair.

Ego in state of wonderful confusion.

Id still celebrating.

Playa dreamtime growing stronger, threatening to overpower the beast i used to call reality.

The "Force" was with the Sledge......

Post by JediDale » Thu Sep 08, 2005 7:28 pm

The mini sledge deflected off the rebar I was just setting in a little deeper on Wed, hence, my left index finger got a chunk ripped out of it that was
a real bummer, as I am a Fire Dancer as well as a Djembe Drummer. I never got to drum at all because of this!! I was supposed to be in the "ControlledBurnReno" Fire Conclave drumming during the Burn, and I
couldn't. It is still healing! Last night I forced myself to go meet with other fire performers and I twirled once, but it bothered me and I quit after one burn. Obviously,The biggest emotional pain was the grief felt for the loss of Sam, who died of a heart attack due to excessive cholesterol early Thurs. morning. He was a member of ControlledBurnReno, and I had only talked to him more than several times, yet less than many, and I found him to be a man of high integrity and likability. I only regret that I didn't get to know him better! He will be greatly missed!!

Genuinely,

Jedi Dale Of Reno

Two cuts on my hand from my Swiss Army knife. A bitchin' bout of Playa foot and several minor bruises from hitting various parts of my bike.

Never could get the hang of thursdays...

Post by Cosworth Magellan » Fri Sep 09, 2005 4:25 am

Thursday was a bad day.

Smacked thumb with hammer whilst assembling shade structure, resulting in two very large and painful blood blisters. Somehow managed to give myself four or five nice bloody scrapes on my arms.

Heat stroke in the afternoon. Worst day at Burning Man ever. After all these years it figures that the one time I stay relatively sober, the desert tries to kill me.

No playa foot this year. I have found the perfect solution to foot care at burning man - thick wool socks and flip-flops/sandals. It's awesome.

Pre playa:
about a dozen cuts
one infected finger

On playa:
abraided back (two areas) from wrestling on the playa surface.
1 bruise from fistfighting, left shoulder.
1 bruise from fistfighting, left bicep.
Bruise on right knee from tipping over on bike.
Lump on back from falling out of shower.
Two abraided elbows.
One bruised pubic bone from pillow fighting.
One mild case of playa nose.
Chapped lip edges.
A few lost hours (?) due to the mixing of ouzo, tequila, champagne, absinthe, homebrew, and several other beverages at the wedding/meet and greet.
One smitten ass.
one blood blister from kicking wood in holey soles.

All in all, it's by far the safest and most injury free year I've had yet. Well, physically that is.

How in the hell do you get a bruised pubic bone from a pillow fight? - I guess it was just a really GOOD pillow fight.

Moral to story...

Post by archean1 » Fri Sep 09, 2005 11:28 am

I got a bad sunburn on my lower back. Seems I'm not used to wearing women's cutoff shirts and figured I was wearing a shirt and forgot to put sun block on my exposed back. Go figure? There's got to a moral to this story... it could be:

A. Always put sunblock on all exposed body parts.

B. Always have a cute friend put sunblock on all exposed body parts.

C. Boys shouldn't wear womens cutoff tshirts or tank tops.

Personally, I vote for B.

Slow stroll through the embers of the temple.Thought I was transcendant enough not to get burned. I was wrong! Burnt the face. It was worth it though!
Large blisters covering balls......... of feet. I know what you were thinking.
Passed out with the ass out ( severely sunburned ass)
slightly blackened eye. Was whooping serious ass at pillow fight club, and large gentleman who was the "ass whoopee" couldn't hang so he socked me and threw in the towel.
Slight brain damage.
Two skinned knees I aquired on a halfpipe, and a friction burn from siding down the firepole at the man.

Excellent solution but watch out for the Playa Fashion Police. You could get mistaken for a german tourist and arrested...

Damn, Archean, and I might even be in Sf for a visit before too long. I'll work on the heavy bag between now and then.

Rob, did you say something? I was busy picking nits out of your fur. And I still know more or less where you live. Consider your ass warned, brother.

And thanks for the oh so flattering pic, RebA. At least it's not cute.

I have to be careful... I just got accused of looking for dates! Guess I shouldn't ask women for pictures of themselves. Because all the women I meet is online, in future, I will just ask them to come over and fuck sight unseen! :)

P.S. Rian, I'm glad I called you cute and you turned out to be a girl. But I am weary of women with baggage ;)

So, I call you cute, you deck me, I get injured, confirming we're still on topic for this "Injury Report" group. That's great, for a second I was worried we were spiralling off topic. :)

Back on topic for a second...

Seeing injured people was actually a couple of my low points for the week. After the burn there were a bunch of paramedics over a guy who looked out of it and they were pouring water in his eyes. Did anyone else notice the fireworks seemed a tad out of control and a few went into the crowd? Did anyone get hurt/burnt? I would imaging those things are rather hot?

Oh yeah, and I also crashed a bike with a female campmate on the handlebars and injured her arm. The same night her boyfriend broke two ribes and had a telescope fall on his head from the top level of our three story shade structure
