Dyke Decompression! Mailing list for nonhetero females ONLY
Hooray for the noticeable increase in lesbians on the playa this year!
Some of us talked about rallying together for decompression parties and ultimately another guerilla attack on the Jiffy Lube tent after the Critical Tits afterparties. (If you were one of the few of us who showed up for this year's attempt, then you surely ran into me at some point.)
First things first. We need a mailing list. I happen to have a lot of free time on my hands and lots of enthusiasm to boot, so I'm happy to pick up the slack here.
Nonhetero ladies (including our TV/TG friends), please ping me for inclusion on this mailing list and future updates on Decompression events at your local lesbian bar.

WHERE IS YOUR FACE? (Maybe my monitor is too dark).Sensei wrote:According to the front of the 2005 'What Where When' guide, the #1 'Top Ten Burning Man principle' is... you guessed it, "radical inclusion".
Admit it. You're just jealous of my legs...
Get used to this pic, people. I'll be over-posting it like hell for the next 51 weeks or so....
Regarding lesbians, yeah, I think I met a few. Odd thing is that I was meeting women and thinking, "Now is she giving me her email because she thinks I'm a cool PERSON or because she thinks I'm a cool GUY." On that note, how does one broach the "Are you a lesbian" question without blowing it for possible dating with someone who might just appear lesbianish?

Someone wanted to raid Jiffy Lube? Why? That was a pretty boring camp the past two years. You visit once and you've seen pretty much all there is to see, just change a few faces, body shapes, and choice of activities on display and it's old in 2.5 seconds. Yawn....if someone's wanting to create drama that's not how you go about it. It kinda sounds like someone's playing the stereotypes and playa myths to the max for personal gain IMHO.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHY MOST LESBIANS SKIP BURNING MAN
Burning Man has long been unpopular with bona fide lesbians, for exactly the kind of shtick we're already seeing here in this thread.
The real mailing list for nonhetero girls exists and will prevail as such, safe and secure from the sexual harrassment that still abounds on the playa. <sigh>

Re: Why post here when you have so many other places, ASSHOL
Then I will post here just to piss you off. Go on and tell admin.QUEERSONLY wrote:Radical inclusion in this case can be accurately interpreted to mean NO MEN so you are wasting your time.
I'm contacting admin everytime assholes like you post here. Regardless, though, you'll never make the mailing list nor be admitted to any of the parties (where there are bouncers) so why waste your time?
You've got plenty of "bicurious" females in the hetero parts of the playa to pursue. Kindly leave us alone, FUCK FACE!

I think you're wrong. I saw lots of women with unwashed, ratty hair, no makeup and dirt under their fingernails.QUEERSONLY wrote:Burning Man has long been unpopular with bona fide lesbians, for exactly the kind of shtick we're already seeing here in this thread.

I guess all my "only-sleep-with-women" friends who were on the playa with me having a blast aren't "bona fide lesbians".
Won't they be surprised.
I guess I'll just go hang out with all my new ex-lesbian friends and see if I can teach them how to do the nasty with the boys they're going to have to start dating. Unless the boys are cute, in which case I'll keep them.

Just why would lesbians stage an attack on Jiffy Lube? Other then to maybe cheer them on and hmmm off?
Twisted image here lesbian strip bar, frat boys, lick her baby.
Sorry Queer your pranks are well , FRAT boy style.
We have all mixes in our camp and welcome all.
I do really wonder why some one who has stated her position as you have would want to SCREW with Jiffy Lube?
Why do you feel threatened by gay men?
Or bi-men?
Or bi-women?
Or hetro- men or women at burningman?
I have known all of the above who have crossed the lines and if you cannot find comfort and acceptance at Burning Man you might want to check your script?
Just wondering why you want to segragate yourself in the most non -
segrated city on EARTH?
At least Jiffy Lube had the hmmm balls to offend Pershing Co. a few years ago. So what have you have done to offend them?
Raid Jiify Lube?
LMAI they did.
Just waiting to blow my beer through MY NOSE at what YOU do.
Put it in motion will you.
Hmm still wondering why lesbians would attack Jiffy lube?
Why would anyone one want to segragte themselves other the "PURE moment of Satifaction." at Burningman?
Sorry QUEER, I go to BM to enjoy and wonder in all that that I have not seen.
Still wondering here because we do have many differnt ages, shapes, genders, and relationonships with all the above.
Attention ALL.

You don't broach the question, for the same reason you don't ask somebody you've just met if she might eventually like to sleep with you. It's gauche. Some questions are best answered in their own time.DallasPlaya wrote:Regarding lesbians, yeah, I think I met a few. I trust you've gone through the motions when trying to hook up with somebody before, while in the dark about much of what the other person is thinking about, through much of the experience. Why worry about the possibility of Lesbianism? You'd have the same question ("does she like me in that way") even if you knew she was straight. Was that a problem, or did you just take a chance and see what worked out? Same deal here, you just have one additional possible reason why you might not be her type.
Credit her with a little common sense and proceed as normal, and if she isn't interested, pull back and accept that, as you usually would. They know that there's no way for you to know just by looking, and I can't believe that you'd be the first one to bark up that tree. Nothing to be embarassed about, and nothing that they haven't dealt with before, presumably with a level of grace and maturity.

Right. I shouldn't worry about it. I'm a big believer in letting friendships, relationships, etc. develop naturally and I'll find out what's going on eventually. But don't get me wrong -- my interactions at Burning Man are always pure. If I interact with someone beyond "Hi" out there (or via email) it's always because we clicked in some way and I really do treasure that, no matter what else I might *want* to have happen.Observer wrote:You don't broach the question, for the same reason you don't ask somebody you've just met if she might eventually like to sleep with you. Clarifications for those who may still be high on playa dust
Sorry you all are reading too much into my original post. I donated my unused "candy" to the Department of Public Works before we left Burning Man -- perhaps you guys may have held on to your stashes to finish off whilst posting on ePlaya? (Whatever.)
First of all, I CAMPED IN JIFFY LUBE, and was the only female encamped there. I was in an RV with four close gay male friends who made good use of the party tent.
My friends said the party tent didn't get busy until around midnight. At last year's burn, AROUND NINE PM AT THE LATEST after the Critical Tits ride and associated after parties, maybe two dozen grrls reportedly played in the party tent for maybe an hour at most ALL OF IT AT A TIME WHEN THE PARTY TENT WOULD HAVE BEEN EMPTY.
If you don't understand why lesbians would crave their own version of a Jiffy Lube tent, PICK UP A COPY OF THE WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY EDITION OF THIS YEAR'S PISS CLEAR AND READ THE ARTICLE ABOUT HOW SEXUAL HARRASSMENT UNFORTUNATELY STILL ABOUNDS ON THE PLAYA.
Have any of you gay and bisexual boys encountered UNWANTED sexual harrassment on the playa? What about you straight men?

oh, i see...you're wanting to create an exclusive group based on the idea that sexual harassment only exists outside of non-hetero-female-land.
<ahem> guess where my one experience with an unwanted sexual advance came from this year...? it's not just them, sweetie. Folks unclear on 'ask before touching' and 'no means no' cross all the social borders. It's not an issue that can be isolated by gender/sex/orientation. and i think the idea of creating any sort of exclusive group within this 'radically inclusive' community has just put a few people off.
arranging a way for non-hetero-females who believe in respectful sexual boundaries to connect is a great thing...Wording it all exclusive and bashing just might not be going over so well, though.
