In lue of sounding like a bitter ex burnner, if seems that the whole art car approval proccesss has turned into the nightmare of so many festivals long behind us. I admit it is hard to evlove from a -bring your own gun shooting range drive-by- to a "respectable community of intensly altered slow moving vechiles", but the advance of power and self governing always breeds resentment. Where I come from is not so much a place of contempt because my 4-wheeler with a glow in the dark sticker wasn't approved, but one of concern because the well intenioned, vastly worked on, hours wasted, mobile of denial. It seems that if your going to have a party in the middle of the desert, where the predominant theme is sex, drugs, and rave music, the least of your problems is the use of slow vehicles. Thats why the asshole rangers are there. Free the alternative modes of transportation, leave the undesirables to the cops, and open up the alternative modes of transportation.
