what was the song i heard during exodus?

Post by buzhidao » Sun Sep 11, 2005 2:43 pm

I heard a song on BMIR, I think around 2:00 PM during exodus. The DJ referred to it as Norwegian industrial folk. Anyone know this band/ the song I'm referencing? It was beautiful and sad, with growling bass, and made my exodus.
Thanks, y'all!

I heard the song, my friends and I on walkie talkies started alerting everyone in our caravan to turn the radio up. It was awesome and we asked also, who it was. With no response.

I did get one artist recommendation at Burning Man this year. "Matmos". In previous years, a Burner recommended "Amon Tobin" to me, who made my freaking year.

If you find out this artist/song, please let us know. :)

Dude! That was me in my incarnation as DJ Apollo (only at BMIR, I'm told there's a another Apollo who does raves). The band is called Garmarna and they're actually Swedish -my bad. The track was Gamen [Vulture] off their album Vedergällningen [Vengence]. Glad you liked it so much - I love DJing at BMIR, especially Exodus - unfortunately, my last hour got cut off this year due to a scheduling snafu and I didn't get to play most of the songs I saved up for the last hurrah. Oh well, next year...

Garmana definitely kicks ass. If you like that, also check out Gjallerhorn (especially the "Sjofn" CD).
