Robbi, I hope that the rest of your trip to K Falls was uneventful. Dan

I didn't get very far before the fuel pump failed. Got a tow to Alturas, where I spent another night in a cheap hotel to get it changed out. It was mangled from an accident I had in January. I'm surprised it lasted this long.

Thank you very much, Dan, for the tow. That was a good life experience. And it was good to get to know you out there on the highway.

Robbi, I'm accustomed to dealing with breakdowns all the time. You acquiesed immediately to what the mechanic said. I was planning on bringing your truck on in to Alturas. That way you could avoid the motel charges. All we needed was an old tire to make it an easy tow. I don't like to make plans for other people so I didn't say anything.

BTW ,any concientous mechanic who changes a fuel filter on a vehicle that doesn't run,,,,,should blow through the filter to see if it's plugged. If it's not plugged, he MUST look for another problem. Like I told you, there wasn't any reason for playa dust to get in your tank. That's why I asked a couple times about the fuel pump. I didn't believe that the filter was the real problem. Oh wellllllll

I deeply appreciate your help, Dan. I don't think my nerves could have stood up to a tow to Alturas however. Everything worked out alright in the end. The Cedarville mechanic did blow thru the line, and the truck ran a good 5 miles before the fuel filter failed. The fuel filter only had 50% capacity, so it needed replacing anyway. The only way to test the pump before leaving Cedarville was to test drive it, which I did. The tow was $123, which was pittance compared to the ticket I would have received if we got caught by CHP.

Sorry, I didn't get very many pictures at all. I should've taken more, but it kinda felt weird to be riding around snapping pictures. Most of the pictures I got were around camp.

Corona for Z. Did you get any of them that I dropped off at Apokoliptika, or did Heli reserve them all for himself?

Yeah, I didn't take too many shots, but I like some of what I got.

I don’t know if it was the 12 you dropped off or somebody else brought it but on Monday as we getting ready to take a bunch of cases of left over beer to the DPW and Emergency services I exchanged a case of PBR for a 12v of Corona.

I think I'll sit my ass down on this barstool and wait to see if Blueniteowl shows up. Oh, and here's a case a beer for the bar, a mixed assortment of stuff left in my cooler. It's got playa dust on it and everything.

Cheers!
